Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball (0-2) will be on the road on Thursday, November 14, when they head to Evansville, Indiana to take on Missouri Valley Conference member, Evansville (1-1). Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m., CT. from Meeks Family Fieldhouse.Â

The Redhawks and Purple Aces will matchup for the 14
th time on the basketball court Thursday evening. In the last two meetings, the two have split the series with the home team winning each matchup. SEMO hosted UE last December to the tune of 77-44 victory from the Show-Me Center. The Redhawks visited Evansville on December 18, 2022 falling by a final score of 64-53. Overall, SEMO holds a 9-4 advantage.Â

Zoe Best finished with 10 points and tied for the team-high with four rebounds.Â

Zoe Best captured the first Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week honors after her first two games in her collegiate career.

In just two games, Best has made two consecutive starts for Head Coach Briley Palmer. In those two starts, Zoe is averaging 35.3 minutes-per-game including a season-high 39:16 minutes in the opening game against Dayton (11/5).Â

In that game, Zoe recorded a career-best 25 points on 9-16 shooting (.563) and was lethal from the three-point line finishing 4-for-6 from deep (.667). She also went to the free throw line and knocked down all three of her attempts.Â

Against Texas (11/10), Best dropped in 10 points against the #4 team in the country while being guarded by one of the premier players in the sport of women's basketball. She finished the game 4-14 (.286) from the field and an impressive .500 from three-point land (2-4).Â

Through two games, Best is shooting 43.3% from the field (13-30), 60.0% from three (6-10), and is a perfect 100% from the charity stripe (3-3).Â

Kennedy Claybrooks has started the first two games of the season in her first season in Cape Girardeau. The Memphis, Tennessee native has dished out 13 assists over the first two games for a 6.5 assist-per-game ratio. After the first two games, Claybrooks leads the Ohio Valley Conference in assists.Â

A pair of freshman made their 2024-25 season debuts in Sunday's contest at Texas. The backcourt duo of
Tristan Spearman and
Alex McGarrah recorded nearly eight minutes (7:47) of game time in Austin. Spearman drained a three-pointer and grabbed an offensive rebound in her first action of the season.Â

Through the first two games of the season, SEMO is averaging nearly 60 points-per-game at 58.5 PPG. The Redhawks scored 70 points in the season opener at Dayton before turning in 47 points at Texas. SEMO is shooting 36.7-percent from the field as a squad, led by
Kennedy Claybrooks who is shooting an impressive 53.8-percent from the floor (7-13).Â

Evansville
The Purple Aces are led by fourth year head coach Robyn Scherr and enter Thursday's matchup with a 1-1 record after most recently downing Wright State in their home opener (65-63).Â
