CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri Women's Soccer (0-9-2, 0-3-2 OVC) picked up their second result of the season on Sunday afternoon with a 0-0 draw against Lindenwood (7-4-2, 3-0-2 OVC) at Houck Field.
A defensive slugfest, the two teams combined for just 10 shots each as the Redhawks held a 6-4 advantage in shots led by midfielder
Zoe Houston.
Houston recorded three shots, with all of them on target, as she was one-of-four Redhawks with a shot in the 90-minutes.
Emily Baker,
Katelyn Miller, and
Justi Nelson each finished with one shot.
SEMO's defense was on point in the contest and did not allow Lindenwood to record a shot on target. Goalkeeper Sophia Elfrinnk recorded the shutout without making a save in the contest.
Midway through the first half,
Emily Baker had the closest chance of the contest for the Redhawks. Freshly off the bench, Baker rifled a shot from a considerable distance as LU's Carolin Ritter used her fingertips to tip the ball on to the crossbar.
Ritter finished with a full 90-minutes, making five saves.
Senior forward
Katelyn Miller had the final chance as she fired a shot in the 88
th minute that was stopped by Ritter prior to the time expiring.
Three Redhawks played the entire 90-minute shift on a hot Sunday afternoon as Elfrink and defenders
Alayna Jakul and
Ella Baldwin helped keep a clean sheet in the contest.

SEMO Soccer will return to action in a week on Sunday, Oct. 13, when they travel to Little Rock, Arkansas to take on Little Rock. Kickoff is slated for 12 p.m., CT.
