CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri Women's Soccer (1-10-3, 1-4-3 OVC) dropped the final regular season home game on Sunday afternoon by a final score of 1-0 versus Morehead State (7-6-4, 4-3-1 OVC).
The Redhawks honored five seniors prior to the start of Sunday's match as
Sophia Elfrink,
Grace Crowden,
Alayna Jakul,
Katelyn Miller, and
Elizabeth Rater played their final home game of their SEMO career.
SEMO outshot the Eagles by an 8-6 advantage over the two periods. Elfrink, who was coming off a three-match result streak, made three saves in the match including an early one-on-one opportunity to keep the score tied at zero.
Forward
Cayla Koerner led the offensive attack on Sunday afternoon with a team high four shots. In 82 minutes of action, Koerner recorded one shot-on-target.
Jakul finished with a pair of shots as
Zoe Houston and
Justi Nelson each recorded a shot to give SEMO eight on the afternoon.
Nearing the 20-minute mark of the first half, the Eagles kept the ball in their offensive third after a defensive miscue by the Redhawks as Hannah Burke found Erin Fite who crossed the ball into box to find Hedda Ornberg.
Ornberg slotted it past Elfrink for the game's lone goal to make it 1-0 MSU in the 18
th minute.
Elfrink was one-of-six Redhawks who played the entire 90-minutes in Sunday's contest. Jakul,

Kristin Anderson,
Elizabeth Rater, and
Zoe Houston put in the full shift on Sunday.

SEMO Soccer will return to action on the road for the regular season finale with a trip to UT Martin. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m., CT. in Martin, Tennessee.
