Redhawks Trek to Louisville, Kentucky for the Bellarmine Open

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - Southeast Missouri track and field head to Louisville, Kentucky to compete at the Bellarmine Open at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.
The meet is slated to begin at 9:00 am CT with the men's shot put and women's long jump.
Last Time Out
The Redhawks finished with 16 first place finishes and 53 top five finishes while notching ten new personal bests.
Piper Klinger got SEMO started off with a 55' 4.75" mark in the women's weight throw for first.
Serena Williams jumped for a distance of 18'5.75" for first in the women's long jump
Luke Hatfield Jackson claimed the top spot on the podium with a 24' 1" mark in the long jump and the high jump (6' 8.75").
Bailee Hux threw a 43' 11" mark in the women's shot put. Hux also notched fourth place in the women's weight throw (54' 1").
In her first ever 55-meter hurdle race freshman Brianna Dixion won the race (8.19). The Illinois native also jumped for fourth and a 5'5" mark in the women's high jump.
Marcus Gordon ran the 55m Hurdles in 7.701, while posting a new PR.
In the men's triple Jump Luke Busateri jumped for a distance of 46'4.25" to win the event.
The Junior from De Soto, Missouri Erika Mellor ran the 800 in 2:22.77 for first.
Terrico Garrett was second to none in the men's 800-meter, running the race in 1:58.27.
Marshall Swadley took home the gold in the men's shot put, throwing for a distance of 56' 4".
The 4 x 400 relay team of Breanna Miles, Laila Hardin, Leanza Dwaah, and Sydney Burdine took first crossing the finish line at 3:58.70.
The men's 4 x 400 relay team of Brema, Crawford, Garrett, and Louis Primeau placed first (3:27.49).
Records Broken
In her very first indoor meet Brianna Dixion broke SEMO's indoor high jump record at the Fred Wilt Invitational, Dec. 9. Dixion is a freshman from Rantoul, Ill., she placed first in the women's high jump. Dixion cleared the height of 5' 7.75" (1.72m) breaking the previous record of 5' 7.25" set by Angela James in 1991.
Feuerborn, a graduate student from St. Michael, Minn., had a monster throw of 73' 4.75" to break the Southeast indoor record previously set by himself in 2023 at the Redhawks invite.
At the Redhawks Invite Taylor Fox broke the SEMO Recreation Center record in the women's mile with a time of 5:04.27 beating the previous facility record of 5:04.30 set in 2008.
In her lone event at the Redhawks Invite Hannah Eastman competed in, she broke the Rec. Center facility record in the women's 3000-meter. The graduate student crossed the line at 9:59.56 beating the previous record of 10:06.87 set by former teammate Katie Wegmann in 2023.
Weekly Award Winners
Fox, a distance runner from Mt. Zion, Ill. was named OVC Female Track Athlete of the Week after she broke the SEMO Recreation Center record in the women's mile with a time of 5:04.27. She also chalked up a fifth place finish in the women's 800 (2:27.33).
Feuerborn a power thrower from St. Michael, Minn tabbed OVC Male Field Athlete of the Week after breaking the Southeast indoor weight throw record with a throw of 73' 4.75".

Parker Feuerborn, a graduate student from St. Michael, Minn., ranks third in the nation in the weight throw with a throw of 73' 4.75" (22.37m). Feuerborn achieved this mark at the Redhawks Invite on Jan. 13th. He is also ranked fourth in the shot put in the shot put (52' 0.5").
Marshall Swadley is ranked 44th in the NCAAand first in the OVC in the weight throw. The junior from Willard, Mo. threw for a distance of 65'6" (19.96m) at the Edmunds-Wilt Invite Dec. 9th. Swadley also has the second best throw in the OVC in the weight throw (65' 6").
Isaac Readnour ranks 23th in the NCAAand first in the OVC in the Heptathlon for his 4840 points earned during the John Coughlan invite Dec. 1. Readnour also cleared a pole vault height of 15' 3" for third best in the OVC.
Luke Hatfield-Jackson jumped for a distance of 24' 1" (7.34m) to be ranked 36th in the NCAA and first in the OVC, achieving this mark at the Redhawks Invite, Jan. 13th. Jackson also ranks first in the high jump (6'8.75").
SEMO's duo of multis athletes Kaitlyn McGinnitey ranks 36th nationally (1st in the OVC) (3540 points) and Anna Thomason ranks 41st nationally (2nd in the OVC) (3415 points) in the pentathlon.
Breanna Miles is ranked first (7.44) and second (24.99) in the 60-meter and 200 in the OVC.
Leanza Dwaah is ranked fifth in the OVC in the 60-meters (7.67).
Sydney Burdine ranks first in the OVC in the 400m dash running it in 56.93.
In the 800 Terrico Garrett ranked fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference (1:55.71).
Erika Mellor and Brianna Payton are ranked third (2:20.46) and fifth (2:21.25) in the OVC in the 800.
In the mile Justin Splitt has a time of 4:17.94 for fourth best in the Ohio Valley.
In the women's mile Taylor Fox and Madelyn Gray are ranked first and fourth in the OVC with times of 5:00.35 and 5:10.49.
Noah Little is ranked fifth in the 3000-meter in the Ohio Valley (8:31.69).
Hannah Eastman has the best time in the 3000-meter in the OVC (9:53.33)
