Redhawks Claim OVC Opening Series Win Over SIUE
Southeast Missouri opened up Ohio Valley Conference play with a 2-1 series win over SIUE this past weekend.

Due to inclement weather, the series was moved to a doubleheader on Saturday, where the Redhawks took game one by a final score of 7-5.

SEMO used five runs in the ninth inning to sink the Cougars including a double to left field by designated hitter Jevon Mason to tie the game at five.

Chance Resetich hit the go-ahead, two-RBI single to score Carlos Aranda and Mason.

SIUE right fielder Kyle Ratliff hit a go-ahead solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning, tied at 4-4, to give the Cougars a 5-4 victory in game two.
The Redhawks would bounce back in Sunday's finale with a four-run ninth inning, beginning with an RBI single by Peyton Leeper to give the Redhawks a 5-4 lead in the top of the ninth.

In the same inning, Josh Cameron added some insurance with a three-run home run to right field to give the Redhawks an 8-4 advantage. RHP Kyle Miller closed the door in the home ninth to secure the series for the Redhawks.

Outfield Has Power
Left fielder Carlos Aranda, Center fielder Brett Graber, and Right fielder Josh Cameron all registered a home run over the weekend.
