Redhawks Set For Home and Home With Missouri State Starting Tuesday
Southeast Missouri (7-10) will play a two-game set with Missouri State (9-5) beginning on Tuesday, Mar. 14, in Springfield, Mo. with the first pitch being slated for 2 p.m., CT. at Hammons Field. The Redhawks and Bears will turn around and play on Wednesday, Mar. 15, in Cape Girardeau. First pitch Wednesday is slated for 3 p.m., CT.

Series History
Southeast Missouri and Missouri State first played on May 9, 1964 and since then have played 110 times on the diamond. MSU currently sports a 69-42 advantage in the series, as the school's split last season's matchup(s) 2-2. 

The Redhawks took the final game of the four matchups last season with an 8-7 victory on May 10, 2022 in Cape Girardeau, Mo. 
 
Dow Selected As Co-OVC Pitcher of the Week
LHP Haden Dow was selected as the Ohio Valley Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week for his performance on Sunday against Butler, the league announced Monday afternoon. 
 
Dow tallied a career-high 10 strikeouts in 2-1 win over Butler on Sunday. It was the longest outing of his career, as he faced 27 batters and threw 105 pitches to pick up his first win of the season. 
 
He retired the first 9 batters of the game before allowing a single to open the fourth. He allowed just a single in the fifth and a single in the seventh before leaving the game in the eighth.

Last Time Out
Southeast Missouri comes into the midweek matchup on a three-game winning streak having swept Big East-member Butler over the weekend. 
 
The Redhawks offense exploded for 17 runs over the three games, including four home runs. Three of the four came in Saturday's contest as the Redhawks used a three-homerun fourth inning to power past the Bulldogs. 
 
Friday afternoon, LHP Noah Niznik threw a gem of seven complete innings, fanning a career-high nine opposing batters en route to an 8-0 victory. For Niznik, the win on Friday afternoon was his first official win of the season. 
 
Outfielder Jevon Mason, infielder Peyton Leeper, and Chance Resetich registered a home run in the 7-2 victory Saturday. For Mason, the fourth inning blast was his first of the season. 
 
 Lincoln Andrews delivered his 14th and 15th RBI of the season in Sunday's contest to complete the series-sweep by a final score of 2-1. 
 
LHP Haden Dow (1-1) recorded a career-high in strikeouts (10) and innings pitched (7.2) to secure his first victory of the season in Sunday's contest. 
 
Offensive Leader
Josh Cameron continues to pace the Redhawks offense with a .344 batting average through the season's first 17 games. Cameron is leading the team in slugging percentage (.594), hits (22), runs (14), and triples (3).
 
Just Get On
Lincoln Andrews currently sits on a 12-game on-base streak and is far and away the Redhawks leader in that category.
 
Southeast Southpaw(s)
LHP Noah Niznik and Haden Dow had their best outings of the season over the weekend series with Butler.
 
 Niznik tossed a seven inning gem on Friday afternoon, registering a career-high nine strikeouts against the Bulldogs. Niznik has a team high 21 strikeouts through his four starts. 
 
Dow registered his career-high in strikeouts and innings pitched during Sunday's start, going 7.2 innings pitched and punching out 10 bulldogs. 
 
Dow has 14 strikeouts on the season and is second in that category.
 
 About Missouri State
The Bears come into the midweek matchup with Southeast having won two-out-of-three over OVC-member SIUE this past weekend at Hammons Field. 
 
The Bears pitching staff held the Cougars to a .175 batting average over the weekend as Brandt Thompson and Trey Ziegenbein combined for 19 strikeouts. 
 
Sunday's contest, outfielder Spencer Nivens drove a walk-off homerun over the right field wall to give MSU the series win.
 
Looking Ahead
The Redhawks will wrap-up the midweek series with the Bears on Wednesday in Cape Girardeau, and will continue their home stand, welcoming in Western Illinois for a three-game series beginning on Friday. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m., CT. at Capaha Field.
