Redhawks Head to Stillwater for the 2023 NCAA Midwest Regional Friday.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri cross country is set to compete in the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Midwest Regional this Friday at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course in Stillwater, Oklahoma. 

The women will run the 6k at 10:30 a.m. CT, while men will run the 10k at 11:30 a.m. CT.

The course is located at 1405 N Walnut St, Stillwater, OK 74075 and admission is free and open to the public.

Recognition of top runners and teams to follow the conclusion of the 10K race.

The women's 6k course record was set last year at the NCAA Championships by Katelyn Tuohy from North Carolina State (19:27.7).

The men's 10k course record was also set last year at the NCAA Championships by Charles Hicks (28:43.6), from Stanford.

Kenyan-born Henry Rono of Washington State owns the NCAA record of the fastest time ever recorded in the 10k, with a time of 28:6.6 in 1976.

New Mexico's Ednah Kurgat crossed the finish line at 19:19.5 during the 2017 NCAA Championships to record the fastest 6k time ever.

Last year North Carolina State's women's team won making it two straight and Northern Arizona won the men's side winning their sixth title in seven years.

Graduate Students Hannah Eastman and Mackenzie Pugh, Senior, Taylor Fox, Junior, Madelyn Gray, Sophomores, Lexie Dockstader, Layla Fliege, and Kayla Vogelsang, and Freshman, Brooklyn Bender are the eight Redhawk women who qualified for the NCAA's.

The men notched three qualifiers with senior Noah Little, Junior, Garrett Dumke, and Freshman Cade McCadams.

During the 2023 season Eastman finished first for the SEMO women in every race. She was named 2023 OVC Female Athlete of the Year and Female athlete of the Championship.

Fox (5), Bender (5), Gray (4), and Fliege (4) have all scored multiple times for the SEMO women. Both Dockstader and Sarah Russom notched a finish in the SEMO top five. 

Little has yet to give up the top spot for the SEMO men this season. The Senior has finished first for the SEMO men in every race on the 2023 campaign.

Seth Gleason, Dumke, and McCadams all scored in each race for the SEMO men while Justin Splitt (2), Terrico Garrett (2), and Nick Cimmarusti have also placed in the SEMO top five.

2023 OVC Recap
Hannah Eastman became just the fourth woman in SEMO history to win the Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Championship. 

For the third time this season Eastman broke the school record in the women's 6000-meter. Eastman crossed the line at 20:42.77, while also placing first and being named to First-Team All OVC.

Noah Little was named to First-Team All OVC while also achieving a new PR. Little crossed the finish line in 23:59.57 finishing in seventh place. 

Taylor Fox finished in seventh place tallying a new personal best with her time of 21:50.59. With this finished Fox earned First-Team All OVC laurels.

Freshman Cade McCadams recorded a new personal best in the men's 8000-meter with a time of 25:10.48 finishing in 40th place.

Layla Fliege finished in 18th place in the women's 6000-meter. Fliege had a time of 22:34.22 which was fast enough for a new PR.

Garrett Dumke and Terrico Garrett both finished with new PR's and placed 26th and 27th. Dumke's time was 24:48.49 and Garrett finished in 24.50.02.

Madalyn Gray posted a time of 22:34.34 in the women's 6000-meter placing 19th and Brooklyn Bender finished in 38th place with a time of 23:15.25.

2022 NCAA Championship Recap
The SEMO women placed 31st overall as a team, accumulating 841 points. On the men's side, the Redhawks finished in 26th place overall with 780 points. 

2022 All-Ohio Valley Conference runner Hannah Eastman paced the Redhawk women, placing 90th overall and setting a new personal-best, crossing the line in 21:40.7. 

On the men's side, Aaron Modrow led the Redhawks pack. Modrow, finished the race in 124th place with an overall time of 31:37.5 for a new personal-best in the 10K. 

Taylor Fox crossed the line in 22:53.5 placing 170th and finished second overall for the Redhawk women. 

Mackenzie Pugh placed 180th overall, setting a new personal-best with a time of 23:02.8.

Madelyn Gray followed close behind for 201st in a time of 23:27.8.

Noah Little finished second for the Redhawk men, finishing in 31:56.8 for 146th place overall in the 10K after Modrow. For Little, his final time set a new personal-best in the event.

Nick Cimmarusti was the third fastest Redhawk in the 10K, finishing in 32:25.1.

Clayton Eftink added a time of 33:00.7 for 183rd overall and a new PR.
