LAWRENCE, Kan. - Daniela Hlacikova went 5-1 at the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) to win the Consolation Tournament. The senior went 2-0 Sunday. The Redhawks posted a 4-1 record in singles during the final day of play.
Hlacikova defeated Aliksandra Lebedeva from Oral Roberts in the semifinals of the consolation, 6-3, 7-6. In the finals of the consolation She then battled back from a first set loss to beat Kansas' Jocelyn Massey, 6-2, 10-7, for the title.Â
Ewa Czapulak rolled past Kaede from Oral Roberts in the extra matches, winning 6-3 in both sets.
Lera Valeeva won 6-0 and 6-2 over Sophia McLellan from Missouri.
The Redhawks wrap up fall action at the Central Arkansas Invitational on Oct. 27-28.
