LAWRENCE, Kan. - Hlacikova will be moving on to day four of the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) tournament after going 2-0 in consolation play. The Redhawks went four and two in singles play today.
Daniela Hlacikova went 2-0 today, winning in the consolation round of 16 and quarterfinals. Hlacikova rolled past Beata Havlickova from South Dakota 6-2, 6-3 and defeated Sofia Pizzoni who retired in the second set.
Juliette Talieu lost a close one to Jocelyn Massey from Kansas, 5-7 in set one and 2-6 in the second set.
Doubles pair of Talieu and Hlacikova fell to Julia Garcia Ruiz and Zdena Safarova 8-2 in the round of 16.
In the extra matches Maja Bajorek came up short to Theodora Chantava from Wichita State (3-6, 2-6) and Ewa Czapulak handled Kylin Sadler from KU winning 6-4 and 6-0.
Hlacikova will begin at 9:00 a.m tomorrow in the consolation semifinals against Aliksandra Lebedeva from Oral Roberts.
