Anna Kaziska and freshman
Nyah Reader both earned Midwest Independent Conference Weekly honors, the league announced Wednesday. Kaziska was named the MIC Gymnast of the Week while Reader earned MIC Newcomer of the Week.
Kaziska registered four scores of 9.700 or higher and won two individual event titles in SEMO's double-meet road weekend this past week.
The Louisville, Kentucky, native, won the floor (9.800) and beam (9.875) titles in the final two rotations at Centenary on March 4. She also had a 9.600 on vault at the dual.
Kaziska then registered a 9.775 on vault and a 9.850 on floor at Texas Woman's Quad Meet on March 6.
Kaziska leads the Redhawks in 2022 with nine event titles.
For Kaziska, the MIC weekly honor is her third of the season and 14th in her career.
Reader registered a trio of scores of 9.700 or higher in SEMO's double-meet road weekend.
Reader, a freshman from Rexford, New York, finished as the runner-up on beam in the dual with Centenary on March 4, registering a 9.775.
She also added a 9.650 on vault and a 9.625 on floor in the dual meet.
Reader then posted a pair of 9.700s on beam and floor at Texas Woman's Quad Meet on March 6. She has now registered six-straight beam routines of 9.700 or higher this season. The floor mark was a career-high for Reader.
She also chipped in a 9.525 on vault at the quad meet.
For Reader, the MIC weekly honor is the first in her career.
Jaye Mack of Illinois State and Isabel Goyco of Texas Woman's were awarded MIC Co-Performance of the Week.
SEMO next concludes its 2022 regular season with a road dual at Illinois State on Saturday, March 12. First rotation is set for 5 p.m., CT at Redbird Arena in Normal, Illinois.
