Kaziska and Miller Showcase Redhawks Gymnastics at 2022 NCAA Seattle Regional Thursday

SEATTLE – Anna Kaziska and Jolie Miller represented Southeast Missouri women's gymnastics with three terrific performances on floor, bars, and beam Thursday afternoon at the 2022 NCAA Seattle Regional held at the Alaska Airlines Arena.
 
Kaziska, the 2022 Midwest Independent Conference Senior Athlete of the Year from Louisville, Kentucky, opened her third career NCAA Regional with a 9.850 on floor. The mark was her 10th straight score of 9.800 or higher in 2022.
 
It was also Kaziska's fourth 9.850 on floor this season and second-straight after tallying the same score at the 2022 MIC Championship March 18 in Denton, Texas.
 
Kaziska tied for 15th on floor in the first session of the 2022 NCAA Seattle Regional Thursday (28th overall). 

   
In the third rotation, Miller registered a 9.800 on bars. The 2022 MIC Bars Champion posted her eighth bars routine of 9.800 or higher this season in her first career NCAA Regional Thursday.
 
Miller, a junior from Aurora, Colorado, finished tied for 20th on bars in the first session of the 2022 NCAA Seattle Regional Thursday (41st overall).

   
Kaziska then hit a 9.850 on beam in the final rotation which tied for 11th in the first session of the Regional (27th overall). 
 
The score was also Kaziska's 10th beam mark of 9.775 or higher in 2022. 

   
Alabama placed first in the first session of the 2022 NCAA Seattle Regional with a 197.900. Michigan State took second with 197.325 to also advance to Saturday's Regional Final. Washington, the regional host, finished third (197.175) and Brigham Young was fourth (196.625).
 
SEMO will next compete as a team at the 2022 USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships set for April 8-10 in Ithaca, New York. The Redhawks, the 2021 USAG National Team Champions, are ranked sixth in USAG in 2022 with a NQS (national qualifying score) of 193.695.
 
No. 6 SEMO will compete in the afternoon session (first of two) on Friday, April 8 against #2 Lindenwood (NQS - 194.700), #3 Air Force (NQS - 194.670) and #7 West Chester (NQS - 193.245). The Redhawks will open the session on floor. 
 
Texas Woman's, the 2022 MIC Champion, is ranked first overall (NQS - 195.240), and will compete in the evening session (second of two) on Friday, April 8 against #4 Yale (NQS - 194.110), #5 Brown (NQS - 193.695) and host Cornell (#8, NQS - 192.110).
