Josiah Kilgore represented Southeast Missouri track & field in the opening day of the 2021 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships West Preliminary Wednesday at E.B. Cushing Stadium.
Clark, the 2021 Ohio Valley Conference Hammer Champion, finished 23rd overall in the hammer field event with a toss of 202-2 (61.63m).
The junior from Arnold, Missouri, posted the distance during his third and final attempt in the second of three flights Wednesday.
Gleb Dudarev of Kansas finished first at the Preliminary with 234-8 (71.53m) to lead the field of 48 competitors.
Kilgore, a freshman from Poplar Bluff, Missouri, notched a javelin distance of 177-4 (54.05m, 45th) in his first throw Wednesday. The 2021 OVC Javelin Bronze Medalist, competed in the second of three flights at the Preliminary.
Kansas State's Logan Wolfley topped the Preliminary with a javelin mark of 237-6 (72.40m).
In the long jump, Hatfield Jackson registered a feat of 24-9.75 (7.56m) for 21st overall in the event at the Preliminary.
The 2021 OVC Men's Athlete of the Championship from Arnold, Missouri, tallied the distance in his third and final jump.
Hatfield Jackson will next compete in the high jump, his second event of the Preliminary, Friday at 1 p.m., CT.
Garrett was clocked at 1:52.31 (39th) in the first round of the 800 meters Wednesday evening.
The 2021 OVC 800 meters Silver medalist from University City, Missouri, finished seventh in the third of six qualifying heats.
Wednesday marked the NCAA Preliminary debut for all four men's athletes.
Carli Knott, the 2021 OVC 1,500 meters Champion, will run in the distance event at the Preliminary on Thursday at 6:30 p.m., CT.
Kaitlyn Shea, the 2021 OVC Women's Track Athlete of the Year, will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase Saturday evening at 6:10 p.m., CT.
