MURRAY, Ky. – Southeast Missouri women's tennis concluded its 2021 fall season Friday and Saturday at the Murray State Invitational held at the Bennie Purcell Courts. SEMO took on Belmont Friday before concluding the weekend against Murray State Saturday.

SEMO took to the court on Friday to take on Belmont.
Starting off with doubles, the Redhawks took two out of three from the Bruins to begin the day.
Romana Tarajova and Myroslava Zelenchuk defeated Peyton Lee and Somer Henry, 6-3.
Vivian Lai and
Manuela Barriga also took down Anastasiya Zholdakova and Meredith Roberts, 7-6.
Ksenia Shikanova and
Lera Valeeva also competed in doubles and lost to Lauren Carelli and Taylor Trondson, 6-1.
The Redhawks cleaned up in the singles portion of the Saturday session. The Redhawks won five out of six singles matchups against the Bruins.
Tarajova defeated Lee, 6-2, 6-3 and finished the invitational with a 2-0 singles record.
Zelenchuk beat Somer Henry 6-1, 7-5.
Shikanova fell to Meredith Roberts in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6, for her first loss of the weekend.
Lai defeated Anastasiya Zholdakova, 5-7, 6-3, 6-1.
Teona Velkoska was also in action winning 6-1, 6-2 over Taylor Trondson.
Lera Valeeva (6-2, 6-1) and
Manuela Barriga (6-3, 7-5) defeated Lauren Carelli and Aly Getty respectively, to round out the day of competition.
SEMO vs. Murray State - Saturday
The Redhawks took on Murray State on Saturday.
Romana Tarajova defeated Annika Pschorr 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, at the top slot.
Ksenia Shikanova then defeated Natalie Slezakova, 7-6, 6-1.
Vivian Lai also picked up a victory over Murray State's Sarah Bureau, 6-0, 3-6, 6-1.
Myroslava Zelenchuk,
Lera Valeeva, and
Manuela Barriga also competed on Friday and dropped their respective singles matches.
Romana Tarajova and Myroslava Zelenchuk defeated Natalie Slezakova and Gabrielle Geolier, 6-3, at the top doubles slot.
Velkoska and
Daniela Hlacikova also beat Paola Campigotto and Jordi Font Montero, 6-1, in the final doubles position.
SEMO, the 2021 OVC Regular-Season Champions, next opens up its 2022 spring campaign at Arkansas State, Feb. 4 in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
