LEBANON, Tenn. – Southeast Missouri women's gymnastics finished first overall at the Tennessee Collegiate Classic tri meet Friday evening at the Farm Bureau Exposition Center with a season-best 193.950. Lindenwood was second with 193.900 and Northern Illinois of the Mid-American Conference concluded the competition with 193.100.
Dahlia Solorzano-Caruso captured the all-around crown for the second-straight meet with a 39.050. Solorzano-Caruso matched career-bests on vault (9.850, second) and floor (9.825, second) that she set at the 2020 installment of the Tennessee Collegiate Classic on Feb. 28, 2020.
Anna Kaziska, this week's Midwest Independent Conference Gymnast of the Week, also won the individual beam title at her second-straight competition with a 9.825.
The Redhawks opened the tri with a 48.650 on bars.
Jolie Miller hit her second consecutive 9.800 on the event for second overall Friday.
Ashley Albrecht and
Lindsey Bates each registered a 9.750 from the second and fifth lineup slots, respectively. The mark was Albrecht's first career 9.700 or higher as a Redhawk.
Alana Fischer had a 9.725 and Solorzano-Caruso rounded out the rotation with a 9.625.
In the second rotation, SEMO tallied a 48.150 on beam paced by Kaziska's meet-best 9.825. Solorzano-Caruso notched the second-highest Redhawk score Friday with a 9.750.
In her second career collegiate meet,
Anna Speller hit a 9.700. Miller chipped in a personal-best 9.675 and Fischer had a 9.200. Freshman
Lydia Test made her Redhawks debut on the event, compiling a 9.150.
On floor in the third rotation of the night, the Redhawks tallied a 48.500. Solorzano-Caruso led the way with a personal-best tying 9.825 for second overall at the tri.
Albrecht registered a 9.750 and
Michael Sanders compiled a 9.700.
Mallory Desch chipped in a 9.650 and Bates had a 9.575. For Bates, the floor routine was her first in competition since her freshman season on Feb. 23, 2018 at Centenary.
The Redhawks concluded their evening with a 48.650 on vault. Solorzano-Caruso finished second at the tri with a 9.850 to pace SEMO.
Sanders added her second score of 9.700 or higher this season with a 9.775.
Gabrielle Adams chipped in a 9.750. Albrecht posted her third mark of 9.700 or higher Friday with a 9.725.
Makenzie Marciniak posted a 9.550.
Friday marked the second consecutive year that SEMO had competed at the Tennessee Collegiate Classic. SEMO has topped the leaderboard at both meets.
The Redhawks next return to Cape Girardeau to host Illinois State in their home opener Sunday at 1 p.m., CT at Houck Field House.
