Twin Bill Moved to Wednesday
This week's doubleheader between Southeast Missouri and UT Martin was moved back a day. The Redhawks were initially scheduled to play Tuesday, but will square off Wednesday due to impending inclement weather. SEMO is 3-1 in midweek games this year.

Series History
Southeast Missouri leads its all-time series against UT Martin, 64-47. SEMO's 64 wins are the second-most against any opponent in program history. The Redhawks are 4-21 in their last 25 meetings with the Skyhawks.

Racking Up Wins
The Redhawks and UT Martin have the most wins in the Ohio Valley Conference this season. Southeast Missouri leads the league with 28 victories, while UT Martin follows with 25.

Redhawks Sweep OVC Honors
Southeast Missouri swept the Ohio Valley Conference weekly softball honors for the first time in nine years on Apr. 8. Junior Rachel Anderson was named OVC Player of the Week and senior Haley Thogmartin was voted OVC Pitcher of the Week unanimously. SEMO last swept the awards on Feb. 15, 2010 when Renee Kertz secured OVC Player of the Week and Whitney Dupuis took OVC Pitcher of the Week accolades. A native of Edwardsville, Illinois, Anderson had another huge week leading SEMO to a 3-1 record. She hit .750 (9-for-12) with four runs scored, four doubles, two home runs and five RBI in four starts. Anderson also drew five walks and stole two bases. She boasted a 1.583 slugging percentage and .824 on-base percentage as well. Anderson went a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, a double, two home runs, three walks, four RBI and two stolen bases in SEMO's doubleheader sweep of Eastern Kentucky (Apr. 1). She raised her batting average to .505 and is tied for second in the nation in that category. Thogmartin, who hails from St. Louis, was outstanding in the circle going 2-0 with a save and a pair of complete game victories. She did not allow an earned run in three appearances and two starts. Thogmartin began the week going 1-0 with a save in the Redhawks doubleheader sweep of Eastern Kentucky (Apr. 1). She recorded a career-high 10 strikeouts to get the win in game one. Thogmartin then got the final out when EKU had the go-ahead run at the plate to nail down her second save of the season. Five days later, Thogmartin tossed another complete game victory with six strikeouts against SIU Edwardsville (Apr. 6). She is 12-3 with a 1.74 ERA this year. Both Anderson and Thogmartin won their respective awards for the second time in 2019.

Anderson Tied for Second Nationally in Batting Average
Center fielder Rachel Anderson is hitting .505 through 37 games this season. Anderson is tied for second in the nation in batting average as one of only three players hitting over .500. The others are UMass Lowell's Courtney Cashman (.588) and Wisconsin's Kayla Konwent (.505).

Home Winning Streak
Southeast Missouri is on an eight-game home winning streak dating back to last season. The Redhawks are 3-0 at the Southeast Softball Complex this year and have not lost on their home diamond since Apr. 17, 2018 (4-0, vs. UT Martin).

Closing in On 30 Wins
The Redhawks are on pace to do something they haven't done in nearly two decades -- win 30 games in back-to-back seasons. At 28-9 overall, Southeast Missouri is just two victories away from that mark. SEMO finished at 33-20 in 2018 and earned its 30th win on Apr. 28 (16-8 vs. Tennessee State) of that season. The last time the Redhawks won 30 games in consecutive seasons was 1999 (31-17) and 2000 (31-24). SEMO has a total of sixteen 30-win seasons in program history.

Coming Up On 100
Pitcher Haley Thogmartin is eight strikeouts away from getting 100 this season. Thogmartin's 92 strikeouts currently rank fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference. To date, she has not reached 100 strikeouts in a season during her career.

Arellanes Goes Off
Right fielder Mykaela Arellanes went 5-for-8 with two home runs, a pair of doubles, five runs scored and four RBI in Southeast Missouri's doubleheader split with SIU Edwardsville (Apr. 6). Arellanes established new career-highs in hits (4) and runs scored (5) against the Cougars.

One More To Go
If Haley Thogmartin beats UT Martin Wednesday, she will establish a new career high for wins in a season. Thogmartin is presently 12-3 through 25 appearances and 15 starts this year. She went 12-7 in the circle a year ago. Thogmartin has won 34 games in her career.

Moving On Up
Haley Thogmartin moved to eighth on Southeast Missouri's all-time career strikeouts list. Thogmartin presently has 229 strikeouts and surpassed Amy Johnannsen (221, 1992-95) for that spot. She also took over the 10th-place spot in games started with her 56th career start at SIU Edwardsville (Apr. 6).

Career Snapshot
Rachel Anderson ranks among Southeast Missouri's top 10 career leaders in a number of different categories. Anderson currently rates first in triples (21), batting average (.423) and slugging percentage (.717); fourth in stolen bases (44) and total bases (292); fifth in walks (68); sixth in runs scored (105) and home runs (17); and ninth in hits (175). She also has 53 multiple-hit games and 26 multiple-RBI performances in three years as a Redhawk.

Hurts So Good
Claudia Gallo has been hit by pitch an Ohio Valley Conference high 12 times this season. Southeast Missouri hitters have been plunked on 27 occasions through 37 games, most in the conference in 2019. Gallo is currently second in hit by pitch in a single-season (12) and fourth in hit by pitch for a career (22) at SEMO. Brooke Nett  (14 in 2001; 35 from 2000-03) presently holds both of those records.

Two RBI Away
Rachel Anderson needs two more RBI to get 100 in her Southeast Missouri career. If Anderson accomplishes that feat, it will mark the fourth different statistical category where she has reached 100. She also accumulated over 100 runs (105), 150 hits (175) and 130 starts (140) in a Redhawk uniform.

Awesome Defense
Defensively, Southeast Missouri has gone 16 games without committing an error this season. Overall, SEMO is 24-3 in games where it has one or no errors. In the last 18 games alone, the Redhawks committed only six errors. SEMO also went error free in 13 contests during that span.
