Redhawks Compete at Arkansas Quad Meet Saturday in Fayetteville, ArkansasÂ
Southeast Missouri women's gymnastics treks to Fayetteville, Arkansas, Saturday for a quad meet with #20 Arkansas, Lindenwood and Texas Woman's at the Barnhill Arena at 6 p.m., CT. Southeast will start the quad meet on floor.

Kaziska Named MIC Newcomer of the Week for Fifth Time in 2019
Anna Kaziska was named Midwest Independent Conference Newcomer of the Week for the fifth time this season, the league announced Wednesday after her performances at the State of Missouri Meet on Sunday, March 10.Â

State of Missouri Meet Recap
Southeast matched its season highs in both the team score (189.800) and on vault (48.200) Sunday at the State of Missouri Meet with Lindenwood and #17 Missouri at the Show Me Center.Â

Lindenwood won the tri meet with 195.900 and Missouri was second with 195.200 in the Redhawks first home gymnastics meet at the Show Me Center since March 9, 2014 in front of a crowd of 669.Â

Anna Kaziska captured the floor title with a 9.850 and was second on beam and in the all-around competition. Kaziska posted a career-best all-around total of 39.100 and added a 9.850 on beam.Â

Alana Fischer was fifth in the all-around competition with a career best 38.625.

Southeast tied its season-high vault score of 48.200 to open the State of Missouri Meet.
Gabrielle Adams led the Redhawks with a career-best tying 9.800 which was fifth overall at the tri meet. Adams now has four vault scores of 9.800 in her career.Â

Kaziska was second on SEMO with a 9.750 which tied her personal best. Fischer posted a season best 9.700 for third on the team.

Mackenzie Slee rounded out the Redhawks with identical scores of 9.475.Â

SEMO then recorded a 46.325 on bars in the second rotation. Fischer led Southeast with a 9.675, which matched her season best. Kaziska chipped in a 9.650 and
Allyson Bell registered a 9.450.Â

In the third rotation, the Redhawks achieved a beam score of 48.000. Kaziska paced the Redhawks with a 9.850 and Fischer had a career best 9.800 for fourth at the meet. Slee and Bell each registered season-best marks of 9.700 and 9.625, respectively.Â

Southeast ended the tri on floor with a 47.275 behind Kaziska's meet best 9.850. Bell tallied a season high 9.625 followed by Sanders and Fischer who both notched 9.450.

Looking at the Opponents
Arkansas
The #20-ranked Razorbacks posted their highest regular season road score in program history with a 197.000 at Elevate the Stage in Birmingham as the Razorbacks finished third, just behind Georgia (197.350) and Minnesota (197.025) at the meet. Michigan State was fourth with 195.025. Arkansas started with a 49.400 on floor and added a 49.375 on bars. Michaela Burton earned the bars title with 9.925. She tied Sophia Carter for the top spot on beam with identical 9.900s.

Lindenwood
The Lions earned a score of 195.900 on Sunday afternoon as it upended No. 17 Missouri and SEMO as part of the State of Missouri Meet. Lindenwood's victory over Missouri was its second win over an opponent ranked inside the top 25 this season. The Lions also defeated No. 23 Iowa State on Feb. 15. Courtney Mitchell won beam (9.875), floor (9.850) with teammate Andavea Alexander and all-around (39.350) to earn MIC Gymnast of the Week for the fourth time in 2019. Jordan Boogerd captured the vault title with a 9.825.Â

Texas Woman'sÂ
The Pioneers totaled a team score of 193.5000 for fourth at North Carolina State's (196.1000) Quad Meet with George Washington (195.2500) and Arizona (195.0500). TWU had a 48.6000 on floor along with a vault team score of 48.5500.

Lawson Faces Former Team

Ashley Lawson faces Lindenwood where she served as an assistant in 2018 for the third time this season Saturday at the Arkansas Quad Meet. At Lindenwood, she was the balance beam coach, and helped lead the Lions to their fourth-straight Midwest Independent Conference title. Lindenwood also finished second in the team finals of the 2018 USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships.

Southeast Head Coach
Ashley Lawson announced Feb. 20 the addition of signee Molly Maxwell to the 2020 team. Maxwell, a Milton, Wisconsin native, will graduate from Milton High School in 2019. She won the all-around at the Wisconsin State Championships and was the first alternate for JO (Junior Olympic) Nationals in 2018.

Maxwell is the fourth Redhawks signee in 2019 and will join Catherine Costantini, Lindsey Moffitt and Taylor Fishkin as well as early signing period signees Dahlia Solorzano-Caruso, Jordan Jones and Mallory Desch this upcoming fall ahead of the 2020 season.Â

Costantini, a Centerton, Arkansas native, will graduate from Seton Home Study School in 2019 and signed with SEMO on Feb. 14. Moffitt, a Ferris, Texas native, will graduate from Laurel Springs School Online in May 2019 and signed with the Redhawks on Jan. 29. Fishkin, a Manlius, New York native, will graduate from Fayetteville-Manlius High School in 2019 and signed with SEMO on Jan. 21.

New Coach, New Era
Ashley Lawson returns to Southeast after competing for the Redhawks from 2001-2004 and holds the school record in four (bars, beam, floor, all-around) of the five individual event titles. Lawson coaches beam as well as co-coaches the vault and floor teams with assistant coach
Chris Licameli.
Â
Lawson was previously an assistant coach at Lindenwood University in 2018. There, she was the balance beam coach, helping lead the Lions to their fourth-straight Midwest Independent Conference title. Lindenwood also finished second in the team finals of the 2018 USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships.

Lawson also served as a member of the Southeast Missouri women's gymnastics coaching staff for one year in 2009-10. As an assistant coach at SEMO, Lawson was the head balance beam coach that helped coach three gymnasts to qualify for the 2010 NCAA Regionals. Also, while acting as the head balance beam coach, Lawson turned Southeast's weakest event into its second-best event in just six months.

From 2001-2004, Lawson competed on the Redhawks gymnastics squad at Southeast Missouri. She holds the school record in four of the five individual event titles. She holds the bars (9.925), beam (9.975), floor (10.000), and all-around (39.550) records. She is one of just three gymnasts in school history to record a perfect ten in an individual event.

Gabrielle Adams,
Lindsey Bates,

Michael Sanders were regular contributors to the 2018 lineup and had to grow up quickly in their inaugural collegiate season. Bates competed as an all-arounder in four meets and led the freshman class with five event titles in 2018. Adams captured one event title last season. Both Adams and Bates earned MIC Newcomer of the Week laurels.

2018 in Review
Southeast finished fourth at the MIC Championships in 2018 with a team score of 193.875.
Gabrielle Adams tied for third on vault at the MIC Championships to earn First-Team All-MIC honors. SEMO posted a 7-17 overall record in 2018.
