Southeast leads the all-time series 34-27 against the Racers. SEMO is 12-16 in Murray, Kentucky and 2-2 at the CFSB Center under head coach Rekha Patterson. The last time the two have faced off was on January 12th where the Redhawks fell 59-64 at the Show Me Center. Southeast leads 6-3 all-time against the Racers under Patterson.
How We Got Here
The Redhawks are currently 12-14 and 7-8 in Ohio Valley Conference play. Southeast Missouri had a three-game winning streak come to an end with a 91-57 setback at Belmont. SEMO swept SIUE with a 65-62 win in Edwardsville (Jan. 3) and 63-58 victory in Cape Girardeau (Jan. 24). It was the fifth OVC sweep under head coach Rekha Patterson and first against SIUE since 2013-14. The Redhawks forced 15-plus turnovers in 21 contests during the 2018-19 season, totaling 479 forced turnovers for the year. In OVC play, SEMO has forced 241 total turnovers as opponents are committing 16.2 per contest against the Redhawks.
Scouting the Racers
The Racers are 11-15 overall with a 7-8 mark in OVC play. At home, Murray State is 8-5 and recently beat UT Martin 76-73 on Thursday. Freshman guard Macey Turley posted 32-points against the Redhawks in the last game. Turley averages 13.5 points and 4.4 assists per game. Forward Evelyn Adebayo averages 18.3 points and 11.7 rebounds per game. Adebayo has been named OVC Newcomer of the Week ten times this season.
