Tipping Off 
The Southeast Missouri women's basketball team returns to the Show Me Center for the first time in 26 days to host Southern Illinois Saturday. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m., CT. 
 
Teddy Bear Toss
Saturday's game will be the Happy Slapowitz Toys for Tots Teddy Bear Toss. Fans are encouraged to bring stuffed animals to the game and throw the toys onto the court at halftime. All donations will go to local children throughout Southeast Missouri. The Toy Bash will be held Dec. 13 in Downtown Cape Girardeau.

Series History 
The Salukis lead the all-time series against the Redhawks, 30-6. The last meeting was Nov. 14, 2018 at the Banterra Center for their annual Classroom on the Court game. The Redhawks dropped a 60-40 decision. SEMO has lost the last five meetings with the Salukis. The all-time series dates back to 1962 with the longest winning streak in the series being 10 games in favor of the Salukis.

Scouting the Salukis
The Salukis are 5-2 this season and carry a 2-1 road record into Saturday's matchup. Southern Illinois is 3-0 against Ohio Valley Conference opponents with wins over SIUE (103-67) on Nov. 8, Tennessee Tech (76-65) on Nov. 16 and UT Martin (70-59) on Dec. 3. The Salukis defeated Eastern Michigian (85-54) on Nov. 23 and Saint Louis (61-53) on Nov. 27 as well. As a team, the Salukis average 77 points, 38.4 rebounds, 14.3 turnovers and 3.6 blocks a game. Makenzie Silvey leads the team with 20.3 points and 32.1 minutes per game and has drained 20 three-pointers this season. She also has 11 steals and five blocks. Nicole Martin is a two-time First-Team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection. Martin has 1,140 career points, landing her 19th in career points at SIU.
 
1,000 Point Watch
Junior Tesia Thompson currently has 970 career points. She has 53 points in three games this season. In her career, Thompson averages 15.6 points per contest. She has been sidelined for the last three games due to a concussion. The Memphis, Tennessee native will be just the 10th athlete to join the 1,000-point club in the Division I era if she hits that milestone. Olivia Hackmann (2012-2017) was the last Redhawk to score over 1,000 points.
 
Redhawks Nationally Ranked
The Redhawks are ranked in turnovers (27th, 87), rebounds per game (20th, 44.67) and offensive rebounds per game (25th, 16.0). SEMO leads the OVC in fewest turnovers (87), field-goal percentage defense (35.2), rebound margin (6.3), rebounds per game (44.67) and turnovers per game (14.5). Individually, Carrie Shephard ranks third in the nation in 3-point field goals per game (4.0). Shephard is also ranked in 3-point field goals made (18th, 24.0) and points per game (11th, 21.0). LaTrese Saine is ranked 26th in blocked shots per game (2.33), and is also second in the OVC in that category.
