DELAND, Fla. – Southeast Missouri women's tennis concluded its 2019 fall schedule with 14 wins this past weekend at the Stetson Invitational. Teona Velkoska and Vivian Lai posted a perfect 3-0 record at the second doubles position to win the flight.
 
Southeast faced Florida Southern, Stetson and Nova Southeastern in the three-day hidden dual that featured a field of 12 teams.
 
Velkoska and Lai beat Laura Vetter and Magda Stepnik of Florida Southern on Friday, 6-4, and then overcame Stetson's Vicky Geurinckx and Olivia Talbert, 6-4, Saturday. The duo clinched their second flight of the fall with a 6-3 decision over Nova Southeastern's Daniela Obando and Isabella Lowrey Sunday.

Manuela Barriga and Sneha Sinha also had a pair of wins Friday and Saturday in the third doubles draw. 
 
Lai paced SEMO with five total wins (two singles and three doubles) at the Invitational. The freshman from Taipei, Taiwan, notched two singles wins in the third flight to complement her doubles victories with Velkoska. She opened the tournament with a 7-6 (3), 7-5, decision over Florida Southern's Magda Stepnik Friday and overcame Celia Montero Estevan of Nova Southeastern, 6-4, 6-3, in the final day of competition.
 
Sinha and Barriga each had three wins over the weekend. Sinha cruised past Stetson's Olivia Talbert, 6-2, 6-3, on Saturday and Barriga registered a 6-3, 6-3 win over Isabella Lowrey of Nova Southeastern on Sunday.
 
The duo also teamed up for a pair of doubles victories. Barriga and Sinha opened their doubles portion of the tournament with a 6-3 victory over Lola Asis and Gabby Hesse (Fl Southern) on Friday before downing Stetson's Lilli Wiedenmann and Jordan King, 6-2, Saturday.
 
Grace Powderly notched a perfect 2-0 singles record, competing in the sixth and seventh flights. Powderly fought past Stetson's Jordan King, 6-4, 6-4, and then overcame Ivana Djordjevic (Nova SE), 6-1, to wrap up the tournament.
 
Romana Tarajova, the 2019 Ohio Valley Conference women's tennis Freshman of the Year and First-Team All-OVC honoree, battled past Florida Southern's Laura Vetter, 6-3, 3-6, 10-7, Friday at the top singles slot.
 
Kseniya Zonova also bested Stetson's Katie Kubicz, 6-2, 6-3, on Saturday in the first singles flight.
 
In doubles, Tarajova and Zonova ousted Minnie Kim and Mathilda Vidgren (FL Southern), 6-1, Friday at the top doubles position. 
 
The Redhawks open their 2020 dual season on Jan. 29 at Saint Louis. The campaign includes 17 matches. SEMO hosts three-straight OVC contests from March 27 through April 4 against Austin Peay, Murray State and Jacksonville State at the Redhawks Tennis Complex.
