Series History
Southeast Missouri leads its all-time series against SIUE, 24-19. The two teams faced off earlier this month when the Redhawks left the Vadalabene Center victorious after securing a 62-52 win. Tesia Thompson led the Redhawks with 22 points and six rebounds. SEMO started on a 12-0 run over the opening 6:45 to get a lead that lasted until late in the third quarter. Taelour Pruitt sunk a long-range buzzer beater to push SEMO ahead 41-39 at the end of the third quarter. SEMO is 15-6 against the Cougars at the Show Me Center and has won two-straight against SIUE in Cape Girardeau.
How We Got Here
The Redhawks are currently 8-9 this season and are 3-3 in OVC play. Most recently, the Redhawks split a pair of games in Kentucky falling to Morehead State, 82-54, and beating Eastern Kentucky, 52-42. Tesia Thompson leads the team with 16.8 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Adrianna Murphy averages 4.2 assists and 2.9 steals per contest. SEMO has forced 15-plus turnovers in 15 contests during the 2018-19 season, totaling 339 forced turnovers.
Scouting the Cougars
The Cougars are 9-8 this season and have a 5-6 record on the road. In Ohio Valley Conference play, SIUE is 4-2 with losses to Southeast Missouri (Jan. 3, 62-52) and Tennessee Tech (Jan. 10, 79-55). Sophomore Allie Troeckler averages 9.6 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Center Sydney Bauman has 36 blocks this season with a little over two per contest.
