CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri (0-2-0) fell to in-state rival Missouri State (3-0-0), 1-0, Tuesday night at Houck Field.
SEMO had several opportunities on offense and pressured MSU's defense with nine total shots. Bears goalkeeper Kaitlin Maxwell, however, saved all six of the Redhawks shots on goal.
The Redhawk defense limited MSU to only one shot on goal for the game.
Kennady Orlick scored the decisive goal in the 70th minute. Her shot came off a scramble at the goal before finding the net on a short kick. It was Orlick's only shot of the game.
Esmie Gonzales recorded four shots, including three on goal, to lead SEMO.
As a team, the Redhawks outshot the Bears, 9-4.

Katie Lever accounted for SEMO's other shots.
The Redhawks close out their season-opening three-game homestand when they face Illinois-Springfield Friday. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m., CT.
