Redhawks Tennis Ventures to Jacksonville State for Sunday Meeting

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri women's tennis (4-11, 1-5 OVC) continues its four-meet road stretch on Sunday at 10 a.m. against Jacksonville State (10-4, 3-3 OVC) in Oxford, Alabama.

Sunday's dual meet was originally scheduled for Saturday but was rescheduled due to rain in the forecast.

The Redhawks head to Jacksonville State after taking a small jaunt to UT Martin on Wednesday. Southeast fell to the Skyhawks, 4-3, but earned singles victories from Oleksandra Doroshenko, Kseniya Zonova and Anais Emelie Wednesday at the Skyhawk Varsity Courts.

Doroshenko (9-6 dual record in 2018) and Zonova (8-5 dual record in 2018) have now each won their last two singles matches at the no. 1 and no. 2 positions respectively.

Isabella Krupa returned to the singles lineup on Wednesday for the first time since Jan. 27 after being sidelined with an injury. Krupa fell to Andrea Plantada, 6-4, 6-3, in her third singles match.

Jacksonville State enters the meeting after back-to-back conference losses to Murray State and Eastern Kentucky. The Gamecocks fell to MSU, 4-3, on March 25 and then dropped a 5-2 decision to the Colonels on March 30. JSU was pegged to finish eighth in the OVC this season.
