IOWA CITY, Iowa – Southeast Missouri women's gymnastics (4-12, 2-4 MIC) fell to #30-ranked Iowa of the Big Ten Conference, 195.500-192.750, Friday night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Alexis Brawner placed second on vault (9.750) and finished third on floor with a 9.875.
Alana Fischer tied for third on beam with a personal-best score of 9.750.
McKenna Stanley finished third in the all-around competition with a score of 36.800.
Southeast started the dual with a score of 48.050 on bars. Brawner led SEMO with a 9.700.
McKinzie Jones and
Samantha Gallet both added scores of 9.650.
Allyson Bell tallied a season-best bars score of 9.550 in her second meet in 2018.
In the second rotation, the Redhawks tallied a 47.850 on vault. Brawner paced Southeast with a score of 9.750, which was tied for second overall at the meet.
Gabrielle Adams added a 9.625 and
Mackenzie Slee had a 9.550.
Southeast had their best event of the dual with a team score of 48.600 on floor in the third rotation. Brawner had a team-high score of 9.875 for third overall at the dual. Jones added a 9.775 and
Mackenzie Slee posted a score of 9.750 for third on SEMO. Adams notched a routine of 9.650.
Kenna Skepnek had a career-best score of 9.550.
The Redhawks concluded the meet with a beam score of 48.250. Fischer tied for third overall at the dual with a career-high score of 9.750. Slee and Sanders each added scores of 9.700.
Megan Dennis recorded a 9.650.
Southeast returns to Cape Girardeau, Missouri, for its home finale on Friday, March 9 at 6:30 p.m. against Centenary. The Redhawks will recognize seniors
Alexis Brawner and
McKenna Stanley. The dual is also a Disney-Themed Meet with the first 250 fans receiving Disney-Themed T-shirts. The first 100 kids will receive glow wands. Fans also have the chance to enter to win the best seat in the house by dressing up as Disney characters.
