Redhawks Host Indiana State
Southeast Missouri (9-9) hosts Missouri Valley Conference member Indiana State (12-8) in its home-opener Tuesday. The Redhawks and Sycamores will play a Noon, CT, doubleheader at the Southeast Softball Complex.

Series History
Southeast and Indiana State meet for the 21st time this week. The Redhawks own a 14-6 lead in the all-time series. ISU has won each of the last four meetings between these teams. The Redhawks and Sycamores meet for the first time since 2015.
Last Time Out
The Redhawks dropped a three-game series at Creighton (Mar. 9-10). Southeast dropped games one and three by scores of 6-3 and 7-5, respectively. The Redhawks beat the Bluejays, 7-4, in the other contest.Â
Home-Openers
Southeast is 19-7 all-time in home-openers since moving to the NCAA Division I ranks in 1992. The Redhawks are 141-136 at the Southeast Softball Complex.
Two to Go
Starting pitcher Madeline Krumrey is only two strikeouts away from reaching 300 in her career. Krumrey presently has 298 strikeouts. She ranks sixth all-time among the school's career leaders in that category. Elaine Fisher (2005-08), Southeast's career strikeout leader, was the last to get 300 or more strikeouts. Fisher finished her career with 510.Â
Four Home Runs
The Redhawks closed out their series with Creighton by hitting four home runs in the finale on Mar. 10. Abby Tillotson, Sarah Messex, Parker Bandy and Riley Hayes each hit solo home runs. It was the first time Southeast had four home runs in a game since Mar. 15, 2016 (at Jackson State).
Grand Slam for Tillotson
Abby Tillotson hit her first career grand slam to key Southeast's 7-4 victory over Creighton (Mar. 10). Tillotson hit two home runs in Saturday's doubleheader against the Bluejays. She finished the series with six RBI, two runs scored and a .900 slugging percentage.
Atop the OVC
Southeast enters the week ranked first in the Ohio Valley Conference in triples (8) and fielding percentage (.976). Mykaela Arellanes is fourth in the league with a .429 batting average, third in on-base percentage (.554), third in triples (2) and tied for first in walks (14) through 18 starts.Â
Moving On Up
Following the John Cropp Classic (Mar. 3-4), Madeline Krumrey moved to fifth all-time at Southeast in career innings pitched. Krumrey has logged 501.1 innings inside the circle in her career. She surpassed Chris Engelhardt (479.1, 1996-99) for that spot. Krumrey is also among the school's career top 10 leaders in strikeouts (6th, 298), opposing batting average (7th, .282), wins (10th, 37), saves (t3rd, 5), appearances (6th, 100) and games started (t4th, 84).Â
Nice Defense
Southeast has gone nine games without an error this season. The Redhawks are 5-4 in such games. Southeast is presently the Ohio Valley Conference's top fielding team with a .976 percentage. The Redhawks rate 24th in the nation in fielding percentage.
