MOREHEAD, Ky. –
Kamden Hutton went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and
Raigan Brannon went 2-for-4 with two runs, one home run and a game-high five RBI to lead Southeast Missouri (17-28, 13-10) to a 12-3 win over Morehead State (7-35, 6-18) Monday.
SEMO's six-inning blowout victory completed a series sweep of MSU in the Redhawks final road games of the season.
Monday's win also gave
Mark Redburn his 400
th in his NCAA Division I head coaching career between stops at SEMO (310) and Evansville (90).
The Redhawks jumped all over MSU starting pitcher Allicen Harris early in the top of the first inning.
Hutton led off the game with a double down the right field line and went to third on an ensuing single by
Madison Winkler. With one out, Brannon slugged her team-high fifth home run of the season to put the Redhawks ahead, 3-0.
After MSU got on the board with a run in the bottom of the fourth, Brannon doubled home two more runs to widen SEMO's lead to 5-1 in the top of the fifth inning.
The Redhawks then sent 12 hitters to the plate as part of a seven-run sixth-inning onslaught.
Sydney Miles started things off with a single and went to third on a pinch-hit double by
Lilly Blagoue. Hutton and Blagoue both scored with the help of a single by Hutton and error by Eagles center fielder Maddy Christopher. Winkler knocked in Hutton on a double and
Aubrie Shore scored Winkler on a base hit.
On the next play, Brannon reached on an error giving SEMO runners at first and second with one out.
Gracie Luna then smacked a three-run home run to left field stretching the Redhawks lead to 12-1.
Sage VanDemark's two-run home run ended the scoring in the bottom of half of the sixth.
SEMO finished with a new season-high 16 hits.
Winkler, Shore, Miles and Blagoue joined Hutton and Brannon with multiple hits. Both of Blagoue's hits were doubles in the sixth inning.
Maddie Carney (5-12) picked up the win. Carney allowed just one run on six hits and struck out two in 3.2 innings.
Willow Van Haren struck out two and gave up two runs on three hits in 2.1 innings to get her second save.
Harris (0-15) gave up three runs on four hits and walked one in two frames.
SEMO scored 29 runs and accumulated 43 hits in three games against MSU. The Redhawks also posted their seventh-straight series sweep of the Eagles. In addition, SEMO has won 20-straight meetings with MSU.
The Redhawks turn around quickly to host former Ohio Valley Conference member Murray State in their last midweek tilt of 2026 Tuesday. First pitch is set for 3 p.m., CT at the Southeast Softball Complex.
