Redhawks Finish Regular-Season by Shutting Out Tennessee Tech, 2-0, Saturday

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Raigan Brannon and Gracie Luna each homered to send Southeast Missouri (20-28, 16-10) to a 2-0 victory over Tennessee Tech (16-33, 11-16) Saturday at the Southeast Softball Complex.

SEMO finished off a three-game sweep of TTU and ended its regular-season on a six-game winning streak.

The Redhawks will head to next week's Ohio Valley Conference Tournament as the #5 seed and face #8 Morehead State on May 6 at 12:30 p.m., CT. This year's eight-team event will again be played at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex in Peoria, Illinois.

SEMO and TTU were scoreless through three-and-a-half innings before the Redhawks ended that drought in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Brannon hit a home run off the video board in right center for the first tally of the game. Two hitters later, Gracie Luna launched a solo shot over the left center wall to put the Redhawks ahead, 2-0. Brannon and Luna are tied for first on the team with six home runs this season.

Elliott Stinson (5-7) picked up the win. Stinson worked 4.2 scoreless innings allowing three hits and striking out four along the way.

Willow Van Haren kept the shutout intact working the final 2.1 innings with three strikeouts and two hits allowed.

Both teams had six hits. Brannon paved the way going 2-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI for SEMO.

Seniors Stinson, Brittany Affolter, Abby Robbins, Aubrie Shore and Madison Winkler played in their final home game as Redhawks.
