Eighteen Student Athletes Earn Degrees at Fall Commencement

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – A total of 18 student-athletes will receive their degrees from Southeast Missouri State University during the school's commencement exercises at the Show Me Center today.
"I am extremely proud of our student-athletes who will earn their degrees this weekend," said Director of Athletics Brady Barke. "They have demonstrated their commitment to academics while also competing at the highest level athletically. I am confident they are prepared to be successful in their future endeavors and wish them the very best moving forward."
A total of 657 students – 522 undergraduate and 122 master's and seven specialist students – receive degrees at SEMO this fall.
Zora Mulligan, Missouri Commissioner of Higher Education, delivered the keynote speech in the 10 a.m., CT graduation. Jay B. Knutson, a member of the Southeast Board of Regents, will provide the keynote speech during the 2 p.m. ceremony.
The Department of Athletics held a special student-athlete graduation and reception Friday evening in Glenn Auditorium in Dempster Hall. Former Redhawk football player, Justin Martini, was the guest speaker for family, friends, and staff members who attended.
