SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Southeast Missouri women's tennis opened the Missouri State Fall Invitational Friday with a strong showing in the doubles tournament.

Manuela Barriga and
Romana Tarajova claimed their second doubles championship (Flight C) and
Isabella Krupa and
Teona Velkoska placed second in the Flight B.

Barriga and Tarajova were perfect with three straight victories on Friday. The duo eased by Missouri State's Courtney Potter and Brooke Smith, 6-1, before a 6-2 win over Tennessee State's Pragati Natraj and Madison Beckham.

In the championship final, Barriga and Tarajova defeated Phoebe Boeschen (MSU) and Marli Van Heerden (Central Arkansas), 6-4.

In the second doubles flight (B), Krupa and Velkoska advanced to the championship finals after back-to-back wins. The tandem beat Diana Cabrera and Constanca Crespo of Southwest Baptist, 6-2, and then recorded a 6-4 decision against Alye Darter and Mara Presot (MSU).

In the final, Krupa and Velkoska fell to Mei Ishimura and Yada Vasupongchai (UCA), 6-2.

Kseniya Zonova and
Sneha Sinha won the consolation A doubles bracket after they outlasted Qili Ma and Rada Manataweewat (UCA), 7-6 (9-7).

Maja Lundell and
Anais Emelie were sixth and
Grace Powderly and Megan Tagaloa of Western Illinois placed seventh in the third doubles flight.

The Redhawks continue the invitational on Saturday at 10 a.m. with two rounds of the singles tournament.
