MURRAY, Ky. -- Southeast Missouri (12-4, 4-1) collected its fourth consecutive win when it defeated Murray State, 5-2, Saturday.
SEMO opened the day again winning doubles, despite dropping its first match.
Kseniya Zonova and
Anais Emelie (No. 2) fell, 6-2, to start things off.
Mila Majtan and
Ana Canahuate-Torres evened the match, winning 6-3 at the No. 3 position.
Isabella Krupa and
Oleksandra Doroshenko secured the doubles point with a 7-5 victory at the top of the lineup.
The Redhawks closed out the match winning four of six singles bouts. Krupa (No. 1), Zonova (No. 3), Majtan (No. 5) and Emelie (No. 6) each claimed wins in straight sets. Doroshenko played tough at the No. 2 position, forcing a tiebreaker, but fell, 6-2, 4-6, 10-7. Warasanti dropped her match at No. 4.
"The team played fantastic today," said head coach
Mary Beth Gunn. "We got down in doubles, but fought back to get the point, which was huge for us going into singles play."
The Redhawks return home to host UT Martin on Apr. 4.
