CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- Southeast Missouri's women's tennis team (8-4, 0-1) will host Ohio Valley Conference opponents Tennessee State (6-2, 0-2) and Belmont (3-10, 1-1) on Friday (2 p.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m.), respectively.
SEMO has had a strong season thus far, picking up wins over Missouri State, Evansville and Lipscomb. Freshmen
Oleksandra Doroshenko and
Kseniya Zonova currently lead the squad with a combined 18-5 singles record and 15-8 record in doubles. Doroshenko leads the team in total (18), single (10) and doubles (8) victories.
TSU is coming off of back-to-back conference losses to Austin Peay (5-2) and Murray State (6-1) after winning its first six matches of the season. The Tigers are led by sophomore Ani Popiashvili with a 5-2 singles record between the No. 1 and No. 2 positions.
The Bruins are 1-1 in conference beating the Racers 4-3, while dropping a 4-3 decision to APSU. Senior Laura Kent leads the squad with a 5-6 record at the top of the lineup.
Sunday's matchup will feature a cookout for fans in attendance. There will be hotdogs and drinks served.Â
