SEMO Ends Home Schedule This Weekend
Southeast Missouri will close out its home schedule this weekend with a pair of meets at Houck Field House. Friday's matchup will pit the Redhawks against Texas Woman's and Rutgers. Sunday will wrap the home slate up with Senior Day against Air Force. The Redhawks hold a winning record against all three teams, combining for a 66-18 mark with a majority of the head-to-head wins coming against TWU (51).

Looking at the Opponents
Last Week, the Pioneers competed against #1 Oklahoma and lost by nearly six points. The Scarlet Knights took on Towson University and fell by a score of 195.675-194.275. Air Force dropped a thriller against Bridgeport by a mere .3 points.

MIC Top 10s
With eight meets in the books, three Redhawks rank among the top 10 in the conference. Alexis Brawner (5th-38.660), Ashley Thomas (8th-38.305) and Allyson Bell (10th-37.390) rank among the top all-arounders in the MIC. Brawner also ranks in the top 10 on vault (T-4th-9.770), bars (T-4th-9.755) and floor (5th-9.800).

Senior Day
Ashley Thomas will conclude her home career as a Redhawk on Sunday against Air Force. Thomas has had a stellar career since joining the team as a walk-on in 2014. She currently has 81 scores of 9.700 or better and 18 event titles in her career. As a sophomore, Thomas competed at an NCAA Regional where she placed ninth as an all-arounder. She has four meets left in her career at Southeast.

Senior Spotlight
Ashley Thomas is the lone senior heading into the 2017 campaign. Thomas is the active leader in scores of 9.700 or higher with 71 total. In her first three years, Thomas has garnered five all-conference honors and reached the NCAA Regional in Norman, Oklahoma as a sophomore, where she placed ninth in the all-around competition. Thomas will look to cap off an already stellar career in her final season as a Redhawk.

2016 Improvement
The Redhawks improved upon their 2015 season, that saw them place fourth at the MIC Championship, with a second-place finish in 2016. They narrowly fell to LU, who collected its programs second conference title in as many years. SEMO will look to build off of last season and claim its first title since 2014.

MIC Hardware
SEMO had a strong 2016 season that saw several Redhawks bring home a number of awards throughout the year. On top of bringing home the MIC Gymnast of the Year Trophy (Alexis Brawner) and sending three to an NCAA Regional (Brawner, Lauren Israel and McKinzie Jones), Southeast also earned 13 first and second-team all-conference honors as well as eight weekly honors.

SEMO currently ranks fifth in the conference, averaging a 190.117 and are coming off its best meet of the season after scoring a 191.875 against Illinois State.

The Redhawks will take on Wisconsin-Whitewater, Winona State and Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the Harley Davidson Meet in Milwaukee, Wisconsin Friday. SEMO holds a combined 29-2 dual record against these three teams. Southeast will wrap up the weekend Sunday with a dual meet against Midwest Independent Conference opponent Illinois State. ISU is currently second in the conference with an average team score of 192.784.
