AMES, Iowa – Southeast Missouri gymnastics picked up its first head-to-head win of the season after scoring a 189.475. Iowa State picked up the meet victory with a 195.775, while Centenary College recorded a season-worst 183.300, placing third on the night.

Ashley Thomas (38.775) and
Alexis Brawner (38.525) had strong performances in the all-around finishing third and fourth, respectively.Â

Southeast opened the meet with a strong performance on bars, scoring a season-best 48.150. Three Redhawks scored a 9.725 or better on the event. Brawner paced the squad with a 9.775 while Thomas (9.750) and
McKinzie Jones (9.725) placed second and third, respectively.
Allyson Bell came in fourth with a season-high 9.625.
Kendra Benak made her season-debut on bars and closed out the scoring with a 9.275.

SEMO competed on beam in the second rotation scoring a 46.375. Bell led the team with a career-high score of 9.725. Thomas came in second on the squad with a 9.650. Brawner finished third with a score of 9.175. Taylor (8.925) and
McKenna Stanley ended the scoring for Southeast.

The Redhawks were on floor in the third rotation and finished with a 46.850. Brawner led the way with a stellar performance and season-best score of 9.825. Thomas followed close behind with a strong performance, nailing a 9.725. Jones came in third on the squad with a 9.650, marking her second-highest score of the season. Taylor (9.100) and Bell (8.550) rounding out the scoring for SEMO.

Southeast ended their evening on vault scoring a 48.100 on the event. Taylor and Brawner tied for the team lead, scoring a 9.750 to pace the Redhawks. Thomas came in third with a 9.650.
Mackenzie Slee made her Redhawk debut and finished fourth with a solid score of 9.500. Benak ended the scoring on vault with a 9.450.

The Redhawks will resume action next weekend with the Harley Davidson meet Friday (7 p.m., CT.) and ending the weekend with a dual meet against conference foe Illinois State Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
