LINCOLN, Neb. – Southeast Missouri gymnastics finished fourth at the Masters Classic with a score of 190.325. Nebraska claimed victory with a 197.175, while California (196.400) and Utah State (196.200) placed second and third, respectively.
SEMO started the night on beam scoring a 46.675.
McKinzie Jones and
Ashley Thomas led the way with identical scores of 9.725.
McKenna Stanley finished third on the team with a score of 9.125.
Allyson Bell and
Alexis Brawner rounded out the scoring with scores of 9.075 and 9.025, respectively.
The Redhawks competed on floor in the second rotation and collected a season-high 48.675. All five scorers collected a 9.700 or better during the event. Brawner tallied the team's top score with an even 9.800. Jones came in second on the team with a 9.750.
Courteney Taylor finished third, scoring a 9.725. Thomas and
Mackenzie Slee added scores of 9.700 to close out the scoring. Slee (9.700) and Bell (9.675) recorded career-highs on the event.
During the third rotation, Southeast accumulated a team score of 47.700 on vault. Brawner (9.775) and Taylor (9.750) topped the Redhawks in scoring. Thomas placed third on the event with a score of 9.675. Stanley finished fourth, scoring a 9.500. Bell ended scoring with a 9.000.
SEMO ended the meet on bars and recorded a 47.275. Brawner's 9.800 led the Redhawks on the event. Taylor finished second on the team with a score of 9.700. Bell placed third, scoring a 9.600. Thomas (9.175) and Stanley (9.000) ended the scoring for the Redhawks.
Southeast will close out its home schedule next weekend with a tri meet Friday, Mar. 3 against Texas Woman's and Rutgers and will then host Air Force Sunday in the home finale on Senior Day.
