A Look at What's Ahead
The regular season will come to a close at home on Saturday, Feb. 25 when Austin Peay visits Cape Girardeau. SEMO and the Govs will tip at 2 p.m. Southeast Missouri will be celebrating the careers of seniors Olivia Hackmann, Bri Mitchell, and student assistant Jade Holly prior to tipoff. Southeast will look to punch its ticket to a second-straight OVC Tournament which begins next week in Nashville.

Series History
Southeast Missouri leads the all-time series with Murray State, 31-25, dating back to 1976-77. Since Southeast joined Division I, the margin of victory widens for the Redhawks to 30-21. However, away from the Show Me Center, SEMO is just 10-16 against the Racers. The Redhawks will look to end a road losing streak to Murray of three games, last winning in The Bank on Mar. 2, 2013.

Vying for a Spot
Heading into this week's games, the conference standings are closer than ever. No team enters this week eliminated from tournament play. SIUE has risen to hold third place at 8-7 followed by a tie between UT Martin and Murray State for fourth at 7-7. Tennessee Tech sits in sixth at 7-8. SEMO is joined in a three-way tie for seventh at 6-8. The bottom three teams all have five wins, sitting just a game or a game and a half behind the seventh-place teams. Belmont has already clinched the conference title and the No. 1 seed in the tournament.

Scouting the Racers
The Racers enter Wednesday's game with an even 7-7 record in league play, sitting in a two-way tie for fourth. Murray saw its three-game winning streak snapped last week with an 85-76 loss to SIUE at home. It was only their fourth home loss this season and are now 9-4 in the CFSB Center. Junior guard/forward Bria Bethea was named this week's OVC Co-Player of the Week. Bethea recorded a pair of double-doubles during the week for the Racers as she averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 44 percent from the floor and 50 percent (8-of-16) from 3-point range. Ke'Shunan James brought the award home a week ago for the third time this season.

In the last Meeting
SEMO defeated Murray State on Jan. 25, 79-70, at the Show Me Center. Southeast was led by four double-digit point performances. Bri Mitchell recorded her second-straight 20-point game, turning in 25 points. She was two short of tying a career best. Adrianna Murphy recorded her second career double-double, first of the season, with 15 points and 11 rebounds. The sophomore had a career-best seven steals with five assists. Southeast forced the Racers into 21 turnovers, resulting in 20 points off turnovers for the Redhawks. Southeast also had 13 steals in the contest. As a team, the Redhawks shot 42.5 percent. A 61.1 percent shooting performance in the fourth quarter raised SEMO's shooting from 36.4 at the end of the third.

A Look Back
Ashton Luttrull recorded a career-best 23 points and drained seven 3-pointers in Southeast Missouri's 82-73 loss to UT Martin Saturday at the Show Me Center. Luttrull's career 23 points and seven made 3-point buckets were complemented by a near triple-double performance from Bri Mitchell. The senior had 15 points, 10 assists, and a career-best nine rebounds. The Redhawks also had Hannah Noe (11) and Dolapo Balogun (10) reach double-figure points. Balogun's 10 points were a career-high with six rebounds. After hitting 17 3-pointers at Eastern Illinois the previous game, the Redhawks had 13 Saturday against the Skyhawks. The Redhawks took a program record 41 shots from beyond the arc. The Redhawks narrowly outrebounded the Skyhawks, 38-37. SEMO grabbed 11 offensive rebounds for 10 second chance points.

Going for the Treys Record
One more 3-pointer this season and Hannah Noe will set a new single-season mark at Southeast. She tied the record of 68 (Natalie Purcell, 2005-06; Julie Meier, 1993-94)) with three makes in Saturday's game against UT Martin. Her 118 career 3-pointers ranks fifth all-time at SEMO. The record, held by Julie Meier (1991-95) is 174. Noe tied a school record with nine made threes at Eastern Illinois on Feb. 11.

Assists Superstar
Sophomore point guard Adrianna Murphy is 16th in the nation with 166 assists this season. Her 6.1 assists per game ranks 19th. Murphy has had four double-digit assist performances this season including a career-high 14. For the second year in a row, Murphy has cracked the single-season top 10 with 166; topping her rookie season total of 144. She has also worked her way on to the career assists list with 310, a figure that ranks eighth behind teammate Bri Mitchell (333).

Logging Miles, and Wins
With last Saturday's road victory over Eastern Illinois, the Redhawks recorded their fourth conference road win of the season. The last time Southeast had four wins in league play away from the Show Me Center was 2008-09 when SEMO went 4-5 on the road. A win over Murray on Wednesday would be the most league road victories since SEMO went 10-0 on the road in 2006-07.
