NORMAL, Ill. -- Southeast Missouri gymnastics put on its strongest performance of the season, collecting a season-high 191.875 in the dual-meet loss to Illinois State (193.475).
Alexis Brawner and
Ashley Thomas placed second and third, respectively, with all-around scores of 38.850 and 38.700.
Southeast began the day on bars scoring a 47.375. Brawner paced the squad with a 9.700. Thomas came in second with a score of 9.575.
McKenna Stanley finished third at 9.525.
McKinzie Jones (9.475) and
Allyson Bell (9.100) rounded out the scoring for the Redhawks.

In the second rotation, SEMO collected its second-best vault score of the season, posting a 48.125. Brawner and
Courteney Taylor tied for the team lead with a 9.725. Thomas followed close behind with a 9.675.
Mackenzie Slee came in fourth with a season-high vault score of 9.525. Stanley closed scoring for Southeast with a 9.475.

The Redhawks were on floor in the third rotation and scored a season-high 48.450. Each scorer for Southeast hit a 9.625 or better during the event. Brawner paved the way for the Redhawks hitting a 9.775. Thomas placed second scoring a 9.750. Jones finished third with a 9.675. Taylor and Slee ended the scoring for Southeast with identical scores of 9.625.

SEMO ended the meet on beam and collected a 47.925. Thomas led the way with a strong performance, scoring a 9.700. Brawner (9.650) and Stanley (9.600) finished second and third, respectively. Jones placed fourth on the team with a 9.575. Bell ended the scoring for Southeast with a 9.400.

Southeast will return home next Friday when they host Centenary in its annual Pink Meet. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m.
