Tennis Tabs Sinha During Early Signing Period

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri women's tennis coach Mary Beth Gunn announced the team has added Sneha Sinha to their 2018 signing class.
 
"We are very excited to have Sneha Sinha join our Redhawk family," Gunn said. "She is a lefty powerhouse from Tennessee and has had a very successful junior career. Also, she is very strong academically. She is going to be a great asset for our tennis program and our university."
 
Sinha, a Germantown, Tennessee native, will join the Redhawks for the 2018-2019 season after graduating from Collierville High School in the spring of 2018.
 
Sneha Sinha who is the daughter of Santosh Kumar and Namita Sinha is a three-year starter and letter-winner at Collierville, where she is coached by Tony Cherone.
 
Sinha was a state finalist in singles during the 2016 and 2017 seasons. She was also a singles district and regional champion in 2016 and 2017. Sinha was named Commercial Appeal High School Girls Tennis Player of the Year in 2017.
 
Entering her senior season, Sinha has posted an impressive 37-2 singles record including a 10-0 mark as a freshman where she won a district championship in singles and was a regional finalist in doubles.
 
Sinha intends to major in International Business at Southeast.
 
SEMO opens the 2018 season against Missouri in Columbia, Missouri on Jan. 20 at 11 a.m. The Redhawks then take on Central Arkansas the next day on Jan. 21 at 9 a.m.
