DEKALB, Ill. -- Southeast Missouri gymnastics finished Sunday's tri meet with a score of 190.500. Host Northern Illinois claimed victory with a 194.425, while Kent State fell just short with a score of 194.375. Junior
Alexis Brawner scored a season-high all-around of 39.000, tying for first on the day.
The Redhawks opened on beam, scoring a season-best 48.525 on the event. All five scorers pulled a 9.600 or better. Senior
Ashley Thomas paced the squad with a career-high 9.850. Sophomore
McKinzie Jones came in second with a 9.700. Sophomore
Allyson Bell (9.675), freshman
Courteney Taylor (9.650) and Brawner (9.650) collected season-highs, placing third and fourth on the team, respectively.

SEMO competed on floor in the second rotation, scoring a 47.400. Brawner led the way with a team-high 9.750. Thomas and Jones each added a 9.500, the second-best score on the team. Bell and Taylor then rounded out the scoring, each tallying a 9.325.

Southeast had a strong showing on vault in the third rotation, tallying a 48.100. Brawner tied a season-best 9.800 to lead the team. Thomas and Taylor tied for second on the team with a 9.600. Stanley and Bell closed out the scoring with a 9.550, helping the Redhawks to their second-best finish on vault this season.

SEMO closed out the day on bars, scoring a 46.475. Brawner, once again, paced the squad with a team-best score of 9.800. Thomas followed close behind with a season-high score of 9.725. Jones finishes third on the team with a 9.550. Stanley (8.950) and Taylor (8.450) finish the scoring for Southeast.
The Redhawks will return to action Friday, Feb. 3 in a tri meet against Iowa State and Centenary College.
