CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. --Â Southeast Missouri (1-19, 0-10) fell to Tennessee State (9-11, 2-8) by a score of 4-3 in its final match of the season Sunday.
"It came down to the wire today," said head coach
Mary Beth Gunn. "It was the difference between one or two points. We had our opportunities to take the match, but it didn't fall our way. This experience will help prepare us for conference matches next year."
TSU won only its second Ohio Valley Conference match since joining the league in 2006.
For the sixth consecutive match, the Redhawks were forced to play with one less player, forfeiting a match in both doubles and singles.
