JACKSONVILLE, Ala. --Â Southeast Missouri (1-12, 0-3) lost, 5-2, to Jacksonville State (5-12, 2-1) Saturday at the JSU Tennis Courts.
Southeast lost the doubles point, dropping two out of three matches.
Mariya Kostiuk and
Anais Emelie won at the top of the lineup over the Gamecock's Olivia Nguyen and Genevie Ulanday, 6-1.
Annisa Warasanti and
Emilia Montenegro dropped their match to Courtney Conley and Sadey St. Amant in the No. 3 flight, 6-0.
Isabella Krupa and
Mila Majtan (No. 2) took Claudia Marsala and Diana Mirceta to a 6-6 tie, before dropping their match, 7-3.
Kostiuk (6-3, 6-4) and Montenegro (6-1, 6-2) each collected wins at the No. 1 and No. 6 single positions, respectively. Emelie battled St. Amant in a hard-fought three-set match but fell, 6-1, 3-6, 5-7.in the No. 5 spot. Krupa (No. 2), Majtan (No. 3) and Warasanti (No. 4) each fell in straight sets.
Southeast is back in action at UT Martin on Mar. 29.
