Lauren Israel had a career-night for the second week in a row, topping last week's 38.800 all-around score with a 38.825. Sophomore
Alexis Brawner and Junior
Ashley Thomas closed out the top three with scores of 38.800 and 38.200, respectively.
"I am very proud of my team," said head coach
Kristi Ewasko. "We focused on the little details, like stick landings and finishing in chest-up positions. The team really pulled it together tonight, not counting any falls, and we will just look to build from here."
In the first rotation, the Redhawks finished with a score of 47.825 and won the rotation. Thomas and Brawner won the event, each scoring a 9.700. It was a season-high for Thomas. Sophomore
Jordan Clark finished third on the team with a 9.525.
Southeast had a big night on bars. They accumulated a season-high score of 48.850, during the second rotation, and swept the event. Each score that counted was a 9.700 or higher. Junior
Lauren Israel won the event, tying a season-best 9.825. Brawner finished just behind her with a season-high 9.800. Sophomore
McKenna Stanley and freshman
McKinzie Jones finished with scores of 9.775 and 9.750, respectively. Senior
Taylor Penzien rounded out the top-five with a 9.700.
The Redhawks continued their strong showing in the third rotation. They posted a solid 48.375 on beam, with four Redhawks scoring a 9.650 or higher. Jones led the way with a season-high 9.800, winning the event. Israel followed closely behind with a 9.775, which tied a season-best. Thomas and Stanley each scored a 9.650 to help the team extend their lead to 3.025 points, heading into the fourth rotation.
Southeast finished the meet strong on floor. They scored a season-high 48.850. Four Redhawks scored a 9.750 or higher. Jones won the event, tying a season-high with a 9.875. Brawner finished second on the team with a 9.800. Thomas and Israel rounded out the top-four with scores of 9.775 and 9.750, respectively.
The Redhawks are back in action next weekend when they head to Columbia, Missouri on Friday Feb. 5. They will take on Missouri and Lindenwood in a tri meet at 7 p.m.Â
