Clyde Santee Signs with Southeast

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Forward Clyde Santee signed with Southeast Missouri, head coach Rick Ray confirmed Wednesday.

Santee, who transfers to Southeast from Odessa College, is the fourth signee for Ray.

"I am excited about Clyde choosing to continue his career here at Southeast Missouri State," said Ray. "Clyde is a shooter that enjoys being in the gym and working on his game. He won two state championships in his prep career at Yates High School. Clyde continues the trend of us signing guys that can shoot the ball and who are winners."

A native of Houston, Texas, Santee (6'7", 215) averaged 12.9 points, four rebounds and 2.6 assists in 29 starts last season. He led the Wranglers with 25.8 minutes per game and 56 three-pointers. Santee shot over 40 percent from the field and pitched in double figures 19 times.

"Clyde is a very versatile basketball player," added Odessa College head coach Tre Arnold. "He can shoot, dribble, pass and score."

Prior to Odessa College, Santee spent the 2013-14 campaign on the active roster at UMass. He was part of a UMass team which went 24-9 overall and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament that year.

At Yates High School in Houston, Santee was a three-star recruit by Rivals and ESPN.com who rated as the No. 57 shooting guard in the country and 25th overall in Texas among the Class of 2012 by ESPN Scouting Services. He lettered four years under coach Greg Wise.
