Final ResultsCAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri (2-20, 2-8) ended its season on a positive note, shutting out Tennessee State (0-11, 0-10), 7-0, Saturday afternoon at the Redhawks Tennis Complex.
Southeast, which ended an 11-match losing streak, improved to 20-2 all-time against TSU since 2001.
The Redhawks swept all six singles matches with
Mariya Kostyuk beating Attallah Eiland, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 1;
Viviana Ortiz knocking off Phyllicia Hemphill, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2;
Maria Montenegro defeating Adrianne Presley, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 3;
Annisa Warasanti taking care of Brittney Harris, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 4;
Katy Brady upending Corlisia Clark, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 5; and
Melissa Martin winning by default at No. 6.
Kostyuk/Ortiz beat Eiland/Hemphill, 8-0, at No. 1 doubles and Montenegro/Warasanti defeated Harris/Presley, 8-1, in the No. 2 position. Martin and
Anna Makhneva won by default at No. 3.
