A Pair of Midweek MatchupsSoutheast Missouri baseball will play a pair of midweek games this week. Southeast will close their four-game home stand with a game under the of Capaha Field against Saint Louis University Tuesday at 6 p.m. Southeast will then take to the road for a single game against Arkansas State, Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Garret Stockton will make the start against SLU while
Jacob Lawrence will start against Arkansas State. Both games can be heard on SEMO ESPN 1220 AM.

Soles4Souls CollectionSoles4Souls on Campus and the Baptist Student Center will be collecting new and gently worn shoes at Tuesday's game against Saint Louis. Shoes will be collected all week long and can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 23-27 in the Department of Agriculture office in Rhodes Hall Room 102 or at the Baptist Student Center. Let's ReviewThe Redhawks earned their first series sweep of the season against the UT Martin Skyhawks. The Redhawks pounded the Skyhawks for 34 runs in the series and only allowed six. Southeast won game one 16-2 and secured the series win with a 13-0 shutout Saturday. The Redhawks swept the series with a dramatic game three as Southeast won in walk-off fashion in 12 innings, 5-4. Southeast is riding a four-game winning streak with the sweep, their second four-game streak of the season. The sweep comes off the heels of the Redhawks defeating SEC foe Arkansas Wednesday, 12-11. Southeast split the two-game series with Arkansas after falling in walk-off fashion in game on, 5-4.

OVC Player of the WeekJunior
Clayton Evans was named OVC Player of the Week Monday. Evans drove in a total of seven runs last week and hit .500. He hit two home runs, one at Arkansas and another, a grand slam, against UT Martin. He drove in five runs in game one against the Skyhawks. He went 2-for-3 in the game. He went 2-for-3 in game two against the Razorback with three runs scored to go along with the home run. He slugged .938 on the week and had a .579 on base percentage with a trio of base on balls. Currently riding an 11-game hitting streak.

March MayhemSoutheast has started the month of March with a 9-3 record. Southeast played 10 games in February and were out-scored by their opponents, 53-51 and went 4-6. In 12 games in March, the offense has erupted for 113 runs compared to the 63 scored by opponents.

Road WarriorsThe Redhawks have bussed approximately 4,909 miles this season, give or take. They have played in six different states including Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas. Tennessee and Indiana will eventually be added to the list as the season progresses.

Rip Roarin' RookieFreshman
Trevor Ezell has come to Southeast Missouri and made an immediate impact. He reached base in the first 20 games of the season for a 20-game on base streak. He has also started every game, either in left field (17 games) or at second base (5 games). Ezell has batted in the leadoff position (15 games) and the second spot in the order (7 games). Ezell has drawn a team-leading 23 walks and is sporting a .467 on base percentage. He also leads the Redhawks with 24 runs scored and six stolen bases. His 24 runs scored leads the OVC. He has also tallied six assists from the outfield this season.

Looking AheadThe Redhawks will head to Edwardsville, Illinois for a pivotal three-game OVC series with the SIUE Cougars this weekend. The Cougars are 8-1 in OVC play this season with sweeps of Jacksonville State and Murray State and most recently took 2-of-3 from Tennessee Tech. SIUE entered conference play 0-9 before the sweep of Jacksonville State. Southeast then returns home for another four-game home stand, beginning with Arkansas State, March 31.
