Showdown with the RazorbacksThe Southeast Missouri baseball team takes on Southeastern Conference foe Arkansas in a two-game series Tuesday and Wednesday at Baum Stadium in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Both teams are 9-8 on the season entering the season. The game can be viewed on the SEC Network Plus and the Watch ESPN app. The series can also be heard on SEMO ESPN 1220 AM.

Let's ReviewThe Redhawks went 3-1 last week with road wins over Saint Louis and Morehead State. Southeast downed Saint Louis 9-7 on Tuesday. The Redhawks hit the road for a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series with the Morehead State Eagles who entered the series ranked 16th in team RPI. Southeast took game one 8-6 and extended their winning streak to four games. The streak didn't last long as Morehead won game two of a doubleheader 11-7. Southeast's red hot offense kept it up in the rubber game as the Redhawks plated a season high 14 runs in the 14-6 win over the Eagles. The offense produced 29 runs in the series with Morehead on the weekend.

Johnny Bench Award Watch ListSoutheast Missouri junior catcher
Scott Mitchell has been named to the Johnny Bench Award Watch List. Mitchell is a native of Dublin, California. The award, presented by BaseballSavings.com and administered by the Greater Wichita (Kan.) Area Sports Commission, will be presented on June 25 in Wichita. Semifinalists will be announced May 14, and finalists will be announced on June 2.

Southeast has combined for 58 runs in the first three innings of games this season. More specifically, 27 runs have been scored in third innings alone. Looking AheadSoutheast Missouri will return home for the first time in over a month for a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series with UT Martin March 20-22. It will be the beginning of a four-game home skid as Southeast will host Saint Louis Tuesday, March 24. Southeast will then head to Arkansas State the next day for a midweek matchup with the Red Wolves.
