CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri (0-2) returns to action with a pair of matches in Arkansas this weekend. The Redhawks visit Arkansas State (0-3) Friday and Central Arkansas (2-0) Saturday.
Southeast, which is looking to snap a 10-match losing streak dating back to last season, opened the year with a pair of losses last week. The Redhawks dropped a 4-3 decision at Northern Kentucky (Jan. 30) and fell, 7-0, at Wright State (Jan. 31).
Mariya Kostyuk (No. 1),
Melissa Martin (No. 6) and
Annisa Warasanti (No. 5) all picked up singles victories during the opening week of the spring. The doubles teams of Kostyuk/
Viviana Ortiz (No. 1) and Martin/
Kateryna Stoianova (No. 2) also earned wins.
The Redhawks face Arkansas State at 1 p.m., CT, Friday and Central Arkansas at 11 a.m., CT, Saturday morning. Southeast is on the road for its first 14 matches this spring.
