HOMEWOOD, Ill. - Southeast Missouri (0-7) secured the doubles point and picked up one singles victory in a 5-2 loss to Chicago State (2-7) Saturday morning at the Homewood Fitness Center.

Maria Montenegro picked up her first singles victory of the spring, defeating Lorea Gamboa, 7-5, 6-1, at the No. 5 position.

The Redhawks then won the doubles point for the first time this year. Mariya Kostyuk and Viviana Ortiz beat Faith Huckabee and Gamboa, 8-2, at No. 1. Melissa Martin and Annisa Warasanti won the tiebreaker against Marnie Perez-Ochoa and Carynne Lloyd, 7-7, 1-0 (7-1).

Southeast plays its third match in three days when it visits Illinois-Chicago Sunday.
