Series History
Southeast meets Texas Rio Grande Valley, formerly UT Pan American, for the third time. The Redhawks own a 2-0 series lead against the Vaqueros after sweeping a home-and-home series in 1991-92, the first year Southeast became an NCAA Division I program. The Redhawks beat the Vaqueros, 85-56, in Cape Girardeau and, 70-68, in Edinburg that year.

Happy Thanksgiving
The Redhawks are looking to snap a four-game losing streak dating back to last season in their final game before the Thanksgiving holiday Tuesday. Southeast lost its pre-Thanksgiving matchup in four of the last six years. The Redhawks beat non-Division I opponents Hannibal-LaGrange (82-72) on Nov. 23, 2011 and Mid-Continent (109-64) on Nov. 22, 2013 during that stretch.

Life on the Road
Southeast has travelled a total of 2,526.4 miles during its four-game road trip to open the 2015-16 campaign. The Redhawks have logged 1,698.2 by charter bus. Southeast, which is playing 1,058.6 miles away from home at Texas Rio Grande Valley Tuesday, arrived Tuesday afternoon on a flight out of St. Louis that connected in Houston before landing in Harlingen, Texas. Southeast is scheduled to return to Cape Girardeau Wednesday evening after accumulating roughly 3,585 miles on the road since the season started on Nov. 13.

Speaking of Away Games
The Redhawks have lost seven-straight games outside of Cape Girardeau. Southeast lost three Ohio Valley Conference road games and an OVC Tournament matchup with Morehead State in 2014-15 before starting this year at 0-3 away from home. Southeast's last road win was a 70-64 victory at Austin Peay on Jan. 31, 2015.

Calvin is Back
Senior guard Jamaal Calvin is back with the team after serving a four-game suspension due to a violation of departmental policies and procedures. Calvin did not play the Redhawks exhibition game against Missouri S&T (Nov. 7) and road contests at Dayton (Nov. 13), Evansville (Nov. 15) and Alabama A&M (Nov. 19).

McGill Out for Tuesday
Freshman Eric McGill, who started Southeast's last two games, will miss Tuesday's game due to a concussion. McGill is averaging 4.7 points and two rebounds in a team-high 29.3 minutes through three games and two starts this season.

Double Trouble
Newcomer Joel Angus III and junior Antonius Cleveland scored double figures for the second-straight game at Alabama A&M (Nov. 19). Cleveland led the Redhawks with 16 points and Angus added 14 against the Bulldogs.  Angus is Southeast's leading scorer with 12.7 points per game, while Cleveland follows close behind with 12.

Coleman and Kellum See Action
Ladarius Coleman and Trey Kellum saw action for the first time this season at Alabama A&M (Nov. 19). Coleman and Kellum missed Southeast's first two games due to a violation of departmental policies and procedures during the 2014-15 academic year. Coleman had a career-high nine points and nine rebounds in 27 minutes, while Kellum scored two points and grabbed five rebounds in 13 minutes. Coleman and Kellum helped Southeast's reserves outscore AAMU's bench, 19-10.

Rebounding Advantage
Southeast outrebounded its opponent for the first time this year when it held a +14 advantage at Alabama A&M (Nov. 19). The Redhawks outrebounded the Bulldogs, 45-31, and won by a count of 16-7 on the offensive glass. Joel Angus III leads Southeast with 5.7 rebounds per game.

Back at It
Southeast's game at Alabama A&M (Nov. 19) was Trey Kellum's first since Mar. 13, 2014 when he scored two points in 13 minutes vs. Morgan State as a member of Florida A&M's basketball team. Kellum sat out the 2014-15 season due to NCAA Division I transfer regulations after playing two years with the Rattlers.

It's Been Awhile
The Redhawks have not won a half of basketball yet this season. In fact, Southeast has gone four-straight games without outscoring its opponent in either the first or second half. The last time the Redhawks won a half was vs. Austin Peay (48-38, second half) on Feb. 28, 2015. That game was also the last time Southeast held a halftime lead (41-27).

Former Redhawk
J.J. Thompson, who averaged 4.7 points and led Southeast with 78 assists in 28 games and 20 starts during the 2014-15 season, is now a starting guard at Texas Rio Grande Valley. He is presently averaging seven points and 2.5 rebounds with a team-high 19 assists in four starts four the Vaqueros this year. Thompson has played at three different NCAA Division I schools, including Houston, Southeast Missouri and Texas Rio Grande Valley during his career.

Angus III Produces
Newcomer Joel Angus III is off to a strong start. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Angus ranks 20th in the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring with 12.7 points per game in three starts. He shot 50 percent from the field and scored double figures in back-to-back starts. Angus dropped in a season-high 18 points at Evansville (Nov. 15) and followed that up with 14 at Alabama A&M (Nov. 19). He is also among the league's top leaders in rebounding (t9th, 5.7 rpg) and steals (t1st, 2.0 spg).

About Texas Rio Grande Valley
Texas Rio Grande Valley ends a three-game homestand when it plays host to Southeast Tuesday. The Vaqueros are 1-3 this season with their only win coming against NCAA Division II Texas A&M-Kingsville (78-56) on Nov. 20. UTRGV lost to Miami (Nov. 13), North Florida (Nov. 16) and Portland State (Nov. 22) this year. The Vaqueros have three starters averaging double figures in the scoring column, including Shaquille Hines (14.8 ppg), Dan Kimasa (13.0 ppg) and Antonio Green (12.5 ppg). Former Redhawk J.J. Thompson leads the Vaqueros with 19 assists. UTRGV is a member of the Western Athletic Conference. CSU Bakersfield, Chicago State, Grand Canyon, UMKC, New Mexico State, Seattle and Utah Valley are the other schools in the WAC.

Up Next
Southeast returns to Cape Girardeau to host Loyola Marymount in its home-opener on Nov. 28. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m., CT, at the Show Me Center.
