Redhawks Begin Final Stretch This Weekend

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri will begin the final three matches of the regular season this week. The Redhawks will travel to Morehead State for a 6 p.m., CT, matchup on Thursday. The Redhawks will return home for the final home match of the season on Sunday for against Tennessee Tech at 1 p.m.
Both matches will be broadcast for free to the OVC Digital Network.
Tennessee Tech and Morehead State are the tied for second place in the Ohio Valley Conference heading into this weekend. Both teams are sitting at 5-2 in league play.
Southeast is 10-6-3 all-time against Morehead State. Southeast defeated the Eagles last season in Cape, 2-1. Against Tennessee Tech, the Redhawks are 12-5-1 and are currently riding a four-match winning streak against the Golden Eagles.

Sunday, Oct. 25 - Senior Day
Southeast will celebrate four seniors prior to Sunday's match. The four seniors who will be honored are Ashley Brendel, Jenna Collingridge, Valeria Jaramillo, and Paige Luehmann.
Sunday, Oct. 25 - Carli Lloyd Giveaways
Fans can enter to win a Carli Lloyd signed jersey as well as meet and greet passes at Sunday's soccer game. Fans can enter to win at the gate. Lloyd is a member of the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team and the National Women's Soccer League's Houston Dash. Lloyd will be speaking as part of the University Speaker Series on Nov. 2 at the Show Me Center.
Let's Review
The Redhawks went unbeaten at last week with a 1-1 double-overtime draw against Belmont and a 1-0 victory over Jacksonville State. Down 1-0 late in Friday's match, Angie Mann tied it up at 1-1 in the 75th minute of the match. After two overtime periods, the 1-1 score would stand for Southeast's third tie of the season. In Sunday's match against Jacksonville State, freshman Lauren Kaempfe scored her first career goal in the fifth minute of the game. Kaempfe's goal would be the difference maker in the game as both defenses held strong the remainder of the game.
Scouting the Opponents
Morehead State (8-8-1, 5-2 OVC)
The Eagles split a pair of matches last weekend. They fell to league-leading Murray State at home, 2-0, on Thursday. Morehead went on the road on Sunday to Austin Peay. Morehead came out on top in road the matchup, 2-1.
Tennessee Tech (7-6-3, 5-2 OVC)
The Golden Eagles picked up a double-overtime victory at home Thursday against Austin Peay. TTU defeated the Lady Govs, 2-1 , on Karigan Owen's second-overtime goal in the 102nd minute. Tech fell to Murray State on Sunday, 2-1.
Looking Ahead
The regular season will come a close when Southeast travels to UT Martin on Oct. 29. The first round of the OVC Tournament will played Sunday, Nov. 1. The opening rounds will be played on the campuses of the No. 3 and 4 seeds. The semifinal and championship rounds will be played on the campus of the No. 1 seed.
