CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri recorded a season-high 193.600 overall score in a tri-meet against Missouri and Lindenwood Friday night at Houck Field House.
Alyssa Tucker registered the highest score of the meet on balance beam with a career-high 9.825 to claim her seventh career event title.
Ashley Thomas finished third in the all-around with a career-best 39.025 total.

"We improved our overall team score tonight and had a really good performance on beam," head coach
Kristi Ewasko said. "We'll keep working hard in the gym with the goal of continuing to improve our score each week. I'm proud of our team and would also like to thank our fans for providing a great atmosphere at home."

The Redhawks posted a season-best 48.775 on beam. In addition to Tucker's title,
Lauren Israel finished with the meet's second-best beam score, notching a season-high 9.800. Thomas finished fourth on beam with a career-high 9.775 while
Alexis Brawner added a career-best 9.725.
Erin Brady tied her top beam score of the year with a 9.650.

Southeast started the event on vault and scored 48.625, which is the second best score of the season. Brawner led the way with a 9.825 while
Chelsi Hamilton tied a career-best with a 9.775 for the third consecutive week. Thomas set a season-high with a 9.775.

In the second rotation, the Redhawks recorded a 47.550 on bars, led by a 9.700 from Tucker and a season-high 9.675 by Israel. Thomas also added contributed with a 9.675.

Following the standout collective performance on beam, Southeast finished the meet with a 48.650 on floor exercise, which is also the second-best showing of the season. Thomas registered a 9.800 while Brady and Hamilton both finished with scores of 9.775. For Hamilton, it was a career-best.

Missouri finished with the meet's top team score with a 195.850, led by the top two all-around performances from Laura Kappler with a 39.175 and Shauna Miller's 39.075 total.

Lindenwood scored 194.700 and was paced by Valeria Ingui and Kierstin Sokolowski, who finished fourth and fifth in the all-around, respectively. Courtney Heise finished second on the uneven bars with a 9.850.

Southeast will return to action with a dual meet at Illinois State on Friday, Feb. 7. Start time is slated for 7 p.m. at Horton Field House in Normal, Illinois.
