CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – For the second consecutive week,
Alyssa Tucker has been voted
Midwest Independent Conference Gymnast of the Week. On Friday, she set a career-high with a 39.125 overall score in claiming the all-around title at No. 1 Oklahoma's tri-meet that also included Texas Woman's.

"Once again, Alyssa has proven that hard work day-in and day-out pays off," head coach
Kristi Ewasko said. "She has really stepped up at practice and commits to the adjustments her coaches ask of her. She doesn't accept mediocrity from herself so I'm really excited to see how she continues to progress through the rest of the season."

In front of a record 3,923 gymnastics fans at the Lloyd Noble Center on Friday, Tucker set career-highs with scores of 9.800 on floor exercise and vault. She matched her season-high on uneven bars with a 9.775 for the second straight week and scored 9.750 on balance beam.

Tucker now has a team-high six career event titles and 34 scores of 9.700 or higher, including a team-leading nine this season. She is currently tied for 41
st in the nation in the all-around with a 39.000 average score. She has posted the team's highest scores this season on balance beam (9.825), floor exercise (9.800), uneven bars (9.775) and in the all-around (39.125).

Last season, Tucker was named MIC Freshman of the Year and advanced to an NCAA Regional, where she placed sixth.
